Only fair to rank Wlad in amongst the top 10 90's HW for what he did during that era

Wlad didn't reach the world stage until 2000 - if you can even call the WBO's heavyweight scene "world stage" at the time. He was not a contender to Lewis's titles until after the millenium and when he was #1 contender he threw it all away by getting destroyed in slightly over a round by Sanders.

Ducked Lewis in 1993. McCall beating Lewis then derailed plans for a fight in 1994 and Bowe subsequently went on to get beaten up in two fights with Golota and retired.

Byrd's own promoter actively sought to avoid letting him fight Lewis, paying Lewis a million dollars and giving him a new car not to take the fight. In addition, Lewis was looking for the bigger payday against Tyson.

Would have fought him after Grant had King and Ruiz not taken him to court and forced the WBA to strip him. Ruiz made no attempt to chase Lewis for a fight once the WBA had stripped him and the only reason King took him to court was so that he could gain control over one of the heavyweight title at a time when he didn't have a single fighter in his stable capable of beating Lewis. No one wanted to see Lewis fight Ruiz anyway.

Was a career journeyman, or gatekeeper at best, who had been knocked out by Rahman and didn't become considered anything more until his shock one-off win over Wlad - a performance he never replicated.

Valuev didn't reach the world stage until he beat Ruiz in December 2005, well over a year after Lewis's retirement, and was never in line for a shot at any world title during Lewis's active year.

Admitted he didn't want to fight Lewis and made no attempt to do so. Still, it might have happened if he hadn't lost to Shannon Briggs.

Got himself thrown in jail at a time when he just reaching the world stage

Was never in line for a shot at Lewis. Arguably, Shulz was robbed against Foreman but even so he failed in every major fight he ever had - drew with Akinwande then lost to him, lost to Foreman and Botha and Moorer and Wlad. Never anything more than a gatekeeper at best.

Never attempted to fight Lewis. And Lewis had lost the WBC Title to McCall when Holmes got his shot.

Was not a legitimate world title holder and was clearly a second tier fighter. Never stepped up to the big league and the two times he fought top teir fighters - Vitali and Bow - he was beaten badly.

Negotiations took place but Jones got distracted by Tarver at Light Heavyweight and dropped down while Lewis was forced to consider his future after struggling with Vitali

McBride, a 6'6'' 300lb goon, and Danny Williams, the heavy bag of boxing, both manhandled the same Tyson that Lewis and Holyfield beat.
Jame Toney, a TRUE MW, who ate himself up to a HW, dominated and destroyed the same Holyfield that Lewis struggled with X2.

Offers were made by Universum for both the K2 to fight Lewis Holyfield and Tyson. But, neither the K2 would be enslave in 6 fight contracts with the snakes running boxing at the time, and they chose to fight for other titles, earning mandates soas their promoters could win pursebids and keep them from becoming indentured servants to American promoters.

Could Wlad beat Lewis....probably not. But he would have slayed Evan Feilds and post prison, Mike Tyson. And Noone gave Ollie McCall or Hasim rahman a chance vs Lewis either, so I might be understating my opinion on wlads chances vs Lenny the Lion.

Yeah, we missed some fights, but as an American, proud of the accomplishments of my American fighters, I'd rather the K2 didnt get those fihgts with Holy and Tyson......b/c heaven forbid, Wlad KO3 Holyfield and permanently injured him to the point we woulda missed Holyfield vs Valuev. Or Wlad KO1 Mike Tyson, to the point where police wouldve found Mike hanging from a Waldorf chandelier with his trademark cut towel around his throat.:rofl

Wrong. You can make the case for Willaims and McBride fighting the "same Tyson" that Lewis did but Holyfield beat Tyson in 1996 and 1997, over seven years before Tyson fought William or McBride, and there's no way the same argument could be made there.

Besides, some would argue that Lewis dominating Tyson and punishing him for 7 rounds took away the last of Tyson's fighting spirit and truely killed him off as a fighter. Certainly prior to fighting Lewis, Tyson was still beating guys of Williams and McBride's level.

First, Toney was not a true middleweight and struggled badly to keep his weight in check at both Middleweight and Super Middleweight, he even struggled to keep to the Light Heavyweight limit. He was more a natural Cruiserweight

Secondly, Lewis did not struggle with Holyfield. Both fights were clear wins for Lewis. In Lewis/Holyfield 1, Holyfield won at most four rounds and in Lewis/Holyfield 2 he was won at most five rounds.

Additionaly, Holyfield was rated #3 P4P when Lewis fought him in 1999 where as when Toney beat him in 2003 he wasn't even rated in the top ten heavyweights, so its very generous to say Toney fought "the same Holyfield" that Lewis did.

Foreman's easily a top 10 90's HW and Lennox Lewis was by far the best 90's HW. Lewis thought Phil Jackson was worthy of a shot at his WBC world title. A great war of a fight that Lewis won in 8.

Now you're telling me Wlad destroying Schulz who toyed with Foreman to an easy points win as well as KOing cold Jackson inside 2 while leaving him unconscious for several minutes doesn't warrnt Wlad a ranking? Come on man! Schulz and Jackson were major players back in the 90's racking up nearly half a dozen title shots between them.
