Say Rigondeaux was able to get out of his contract with Top Rank and become a free agent the way Miguel Cotto is (which would likely benefit him being that his promoter and the network that showcase him don't seem to likr him) and was able to secure a fight on Showtime with undefeated Golden Boy Promotions Human Windmill Leo Santa Cruz- who would you favor?

I've got Rigondeaux on a wide points victory when his fast accurate counters start to stun LSC and he starts to think before he throws seriously dulling his punch output and becoming Rigo's type of fight- not too dissimilar from the Donaire fight.

This thread is getting no attention because it's not about Pacquiao vs Mayweather.

    :sad2

You can say it would resemble Mayweather vs Magarito back in the day if Mayweather didn't duck Magarito like he ducked Pacquiao!

    Think outside the box *****'s/*******'s

Rigo stops him. I think people underestimate his strength, he shoots that straight counter as fierce as any top 10 P4P fighter, it's the reason fighters don't want to get close to him.

:good He's similar in ways to Mayweather and Ward- neither is a one punch KO puncher but they punch HARD, FAST and ACCURATE enough to make you regret wading in- especially when you're not landing anything of significance yourself.

If Santa Cruz fought his normal way for the entire fight I would agree with the stoppage prediction.

I believe Santa Cruz would become gun-shy when realizing he couldnt get near rigo. Rigo counters him all night long, timings too good, too sharp and would probably stop LSC if LSC tried to open up leaving himself exposed.

Easy: Rigo wide UD. LSC would pull an Agbeko: 20 punches thrown by round

I can't see Rigo not winning this by UD. I think he will carry his power up just fine. He's used to being in with bigger guys. Too fast, too crafty, too much experience. Rigondeaux would counter Cruz all day. Most fights I envisage involving Rigondeaux are kind of anticlimactic. I would like to see him in with Mares, or Donaire again.

Now the obvious answer is Rigo by Ud or KO and I would favor him. That said just to give another viewpoint to this fight. Rigo is great against fellow counter punchers like Donaire and recently Agbeko (ok I don't know this fighter very well but he is not a pressure fighter). The same Rigo though struggled a lot with Cordoba it was a very close fight IMAO and get stunned by Marroquin a couple of times. Rigo is very good but he has proven himself against one type of style and showed some weaknesses against others. Leo-Rigo is gonna be a very interesting match up.

This is a fight that most fans want to see and a fight that more than likely will never happen ie. Pac vs Floyd, Mares vs Nonito, Ruslan vs Garcia, Matthysse vs Rios.

Rigo hasn't stopped any body of late. I don't think Cruz is going to be on ktfo list. Cruz will make it

uncomfortable for Rigo and is the type of boxer that will have Rigo running around the ring.

LSK isn't ready for that challenge.
