Even if Cotto wins he won't recover in 3 months. Sergio will definitely hurt him and it would be back to back training camps (with maybe a week or 2 off).

Absolutely no chance of it happening in September.

How's is it not the MW title eve though its Lineal??:lol::lol: Thats gotta be one of the dumbest statements i've ever heard. Everybody knows Martinez is the champ

Cotto is gonna beat the crap out of Martinez, Martinez does not need to be finished compeltely, all he has to do is keep his hands down like he does in all his fights and eat power all night.

If Serigo loses it to Cotto then Cotto is champ wether u like it or not. also Mayweather being Lineal in 3 weight classes does a bunch for his legacy, the only thing he can do to make it better. Plus Mayweather himself said thats the toughest person hes ever fought and he would be going weight of of his weight to make that fight.

I dont wanna say no chance. If Cotto KO's Martinez ( which i think is gonna happen and hes been down alot these last couple of years) Then who knows how much Cotto gets hurt. he might take a couple, he might put perssure and Martinez takes a beating. 3 months is not to soon for a massive fight

I seriously hope not as he will hold the middleweight belt hostage, do you really think floyd would fight the best natural 160'ers? He has no business at middleweight.

It would be cynical of two fronts - cynical of Cotto to now go after Sergio because he knows Sergio is aging and is plagued by injuries so now he thinks he's in with a chance. It would be cynical of Floyd to go after a guy he already beat to pick up a middleweight belt.

Why would there be any need for a catchweight anyway? Cotto and Floyd are naturally about the same size that's why Floyd was fine with fighting Cotto at 154 compared to draining the larger built Canelo down to 152.

Why is there ever a need for a catch weight ? And who doesn't like rematches ? They are apart of boxing !

Definitely not. Cotto started at 140, and Floyd at 130.

Floyd can still make 140, he came in at 146 against Guerrero and doesnt even cut water weight. Cotto could never make 140, let alone 147 present day. No chance.

Trout is a decent sized guy at 154 and was much bigger than Cotto because Miguel is not a natural 154 lb'er. He's able to compete there because he's a better boxer than most of the guys he's faced there. I think he could make 147, even Roach floated the idea of going back down, I just think Miguel didn't handle cutting weight properly in years gone by.

As I've said before, just because Floyd maintains his weight well doesn't make him small. He measured up size wise with Shane when they fought and Shane isn't a small welterweight.

^^ Doesn't seem to be a huge difference to me.

This is why we get all the silly FMJ/GGG threads. Crap like this, trying to put Mayweather and Middleweight into the same sentence where they dont belong together.

Oh, and as an aside - if Cotto gets revitalized by new training/weight and Roach skill up enough to take title from healthy Martinez he knocks FMJ out at 160 anyhow. Or 157 or 158 where you could still plausibly consider MW lineal on the line.

Martinez beats Cotto, badly, this is the end for Cotto. This isn't in the cards. Cotto should have kept Diaz. I also think that if somehow Cotto does beat Martinez, he will hurt FMJ in a middleweight fight. Floyd shouldn't fight above 147.

I've never made a Floyd/GGG thread and that fight will never happen. yes Mayweather shouldnt fight at Middle weight but if Cotto wins then he'll most likely go for it. Circumstances give everybody a chance to do something. Pac wanted a 154 title so he made Margarito come down to 150 to get it and he started from 112. RJJ knew he couldnt beat Lewis so he went for Ruiz, do u think anybody in there right mind thought he could go to Heavy Weight??? I sure didnt.

Now with u saying Cotto would KO Mayweather at MW then we should be pushing this fight shouldnt we!?!?! If this will be his biggest challenge left then hell yea Mayweather should go for it, dont we want people to challenge themselves in boxing??
