    These sort of things always throw up interesting things though that most muppets wouldn't have had the first clue about - remember reading an interview with a heavyweight from the 90's Phil Jackson who went in with Lennox Lewis once amongst others and he said that the guy who hit him the hardest was Dennis Andries - he said something along the lines of "No I went in with a few guys who hit harder than Lennox - Dennis Andries hit like a motherbleeper he hurt me more than anyone and that was just in sparring with 16oz gloves and head guards! that guy could hit!" But your average Lennox fan boy would try to run down anyone who suggested a light heavyweight could hit harder than Lennox

    Yeah Tyson changes his comments all the time, but all things considered you have to look at Holyfields body of work. He hurt many guys with really solid chins and it was because he was such an accurate puncher.
    By the time Holyfield met Tyson, Tyson was so predictable, it was quite easy for any skilled technician to find him, and Holyfield was still one of the few heavies that put his punches together in combinations. Lewis was never really all that great of a combination puncher.
    The version of Tyson that Holyfield faced would have probably been reduced to a David Tua level fighter had he fought those same guys he faced throughout the 80s. because many of them could move, jab and had faster hands than the slow pokes of the 90's.

    hard to tell what a fighter is feeling in the ring, but from what I saw I would have thought Douglas & Lennox got some of the cleaner punches on Tyson but I remember when Holyfield in his prior fight vs Bobby Cyz labored to stop Cyz yet to my surprise walked into the ring Phil.413 ( I can do all things) and dominated, so who knows

    Tyson also talked about Holyfield's punches not hurting him and wondering why he got dizzy and attributing it to Holyfield's headbutts.

    I'm reading his biography right now and he seems to have an excuse for every off night and I haven't got into the losses yet.

    Even today Tyson wont admit he wasnt the same without Rooney or that he made certain errors. Tyson is strange about those things. I think he probably does in fact believe he was just as good post prison. Even Holyfield during their meeting on the reality show, told Tyson that he stopped being an unpredictable target when he left Rooney and Tyson didnt even acknowledge it.

    Shock, horror. Some people might actually be stupid enough to believe that a 240lb Undisputed Heavyweight Champion fighter hits harder than a 175 lb guy.

    Why!! the absurdity.:roll::roll:

    this is a little known fact which most people don't know.

    everybody talks about the Tyson Rooney split, what nobody knows is that it was ROONEY who severed ties with Tyson and not the other way round.

    The Peter Heller autobiography mentions this.

    Rooney was meant to sit out the Tyson Bruno fight as "punishment" for speaking out against Tysons wife and mother in law at the time. Mike was madly in love and severing ties with everyone at the behest of the woman and Rooney told him off about this. So Tyson barred Rooney from his corner for one fight only, he was then meant to return back. However Rooney decided to sue Tyson during this period so basically Tyson said screw you your not working with me again. If Rooney hadn't foolishly sued Tyson, Tyson would have taken him back
