how is khan a big money fight?

wasnt he in the u.s. bec he has less support in uk?

i dont think anyone in the u.s. would think he has a chance of stealing a round with floyd, let alone beating him.

with no u.s. backing, he is left with the u.k. support to count to which is questionable in the first place esp with his recent fights.

no wonder khan starts to mention his asian roots (pak, india) as a last resort of a supposed fan base that will blindliy buy the fight with flloyd.

floyd-khan is in the vicinity with the guerrero fight esp with no alvarez on the undercard.

this is prolly why it is end of the year and still no fight announce.

also, if showtime matches him with maidana, they run the risk of alienating broner.

floyd/showtime is in a tight spot right now.

maybe we can get the pac fight instead, who knows.

The undercard will have to be super stacked for this fight to sell.
Khan has speed but that is all he brings to the table. Floyd will eat him alive and there is a chance that Floyd could KO Khan:think

    Just my humble view:yep

Showtime do have a say in who he fights i reckon. That's why Canelo fight happened after the poor numbers for the Guerrero fight Showtime were in no mood to take another loss, Khan is a risky move for Showtime, while the UK sales may be good how much of a draw is Khan in America. I mean i doubt many in the States rate Khan he certainly won't draw half of what Canelo did

Showtime won't see a cent from UK ppv sales (not that they'll be anything special) so I can see their concern.

Around Guerrero numbers, which SHO would say are poor numbers considering the contract. Not sure if Maidana is the answer neither. The UK has more fans that are willing to pay for Sky Sports PPV and yes SHO would get a piece of that. SHO would likely not get much from Argentia.

And don't go on about Pacquiao. He's not available for May. He's fighting in April. Pac fight will happen before Floyd's contract is up.

UK is a group of western nations. They don't resell/rebroadcast SHO events without paying royalties.

Who would sell significantly better that Floyd would actually face?

he gets a guarantee no matter what so dont be surprised its khan. sho has got to come up with his money so they will do the math to make sure the fight generates enough cash to pay floyd his guarantee

Sky (UK tv company) will do a deal with Golden Boy for the international feed. Pretty sure Showtime, HBO or whoever are kept out of the loop.

It will cost £15 ($25) and unless Ricky Hatton is involved the 4am ppvs usually do very average numbers. After Sky and the taxman take their cut the money really isn't that big, certainly for someone like Floyd.

Hatton made big money from the Mayweather fight because it did a million UK buys (a khan fight won't get anywhere this) and he didn't split that revenue with Floyd.

Actually if you watch SKY, they use the same footage as SHO/HBO with a different broadcasting team. In fact, you'll see them mask out the network logo when it appears. NO way they are getting that for free.
