Does anyone agree with the Cobra ?

He says he beat Groves fair and square the ref stopped the contest and he was down and out !

I'd like to see Froch rematch Groves because the result of the 1st fight was inconclusive. Groves was winning but it looked like he was hurt and could have been KO'ed 10 seconds later or perhaps gone on to recover, nobody really knows, the ref took away any chance of a conclusive outcome. In reality I see the 1st fight as a technical draw not a win for either fighter.

But Froch is at the end of his career and has earned the right to end his career with a lucrative pay day. He didn't lose the 1st fight so I can see why he doesn't feel the need to have a rematch over the need to end his career by either avenging his one last unavenged loss or making a big pay day.

If you were Froch would you rather rematch, a guy who you beat in a tough inconclusive fight or the one guy who did beat you convincingly who if you win will add more to your legacy than any other fight? I can understand why Froch would prefer to fight Ward.

Just because that's what he'd prefer doesn't mean it's the moral decision. He owes Groves a rematch for that BS.

Completely different scenarios in my opinion.

Groves and DeGale was a close fight that some saw go one way and others saw the other way.
With Groves/Froch the fight was stopped when Groves looked to be still in it, in my opinion again and Froch had looked more troubled than Groves in the fight earlier.

Where does morality come into this. It's not like he is contractually or morally obligated to rematch Groves. Groves wasn't cheated out of a win, he simply wasn't given the opportunity to come back and possibly win die to an over zealous ref. There was no robbery here just and inconclusive result. Only people who were robbed here were the boxing fans.

If Froch picks and easy next defence then you can criticise him for cherry picking and avoiding Groves. But he's looking to fight a better opponent than Groves who would likely school Groves. There is no immorality here just Froch doing what he has always done, look for the toughest opponent available which in this scenario is Ward not Groves.

The fight deserves a rematch but I don't mind Froch going another route as long as he doesn't have a rubber match with Kessler.

I'd rather see him retire than go for a cash grab fight with Kessler.

I was in Brazil a few years ago and was on the beach playing football, Fat Ronaldo came up to me and asked if I wanted to join him and his friends for a few drinks.

So we got a few drinks then went onto a few bars , clubs and so on , met some amazing women and had a great time I will never forget.

Let's get this straight Froch does not want to face Ward he wants to face Chavez. He isn't as bothered about losing to Ward though because he likes his best in Britain title.

    Basically this^

Definitely not interested in seeing Froch vs Ward. Plus, using Froch's logic why would Ward rematch him? He beat him fair and square etc.

Froch has come out time and time again and said he has no interest in rematches against peope he has beaten, so why do people who have beaten him owe him that courtesy.

Perhaps because the ref helped Froch beat Groves?

    That's what me thinks . . .
