its just some of their fans try to bulk them up to be something they aren't. they are ok people, ambitious and interesting, good boxers and a handful in the ring. nothing to hate there until the obsessive fans try to make them something beyond that. Actually this thread typifies the paranoia diehard fans of the K2s hold, trying to blame their obsession on external parties.
Big men usually tend to move more slowly, no other big HW can move as skillfully as Wlad does. You like Jack Johnson who was bigger than most of his opponents and had a KO ratio of about 40%, yet despise Wladimir Klitschko who has a KO ratio of about 80%. Double standard? I see signs of aging in Wlad in his past two fights, but he's still the best of the best heavyweights. Andre Ward and Floyd Mayweather are supposed to be the two best boxers in the world but they've have been getting fewer KOs than Wlad. Ward couldn't even stop Allan Green and Edison Miranda. But you're a big supporter of Ward and Mayweather. Same old double standard. It's obvious you have quite a double standard. Andre Ward holds excessively (and otherwise fouls) in virtually every fight, yet you approve of it. And you approve of Bernard Hopkins doing it too. And that proves what I posted earlier.
According to you, you need one punch-knockout power to be great. Are you seriously saying Wlad moves skillfully? Lewis and Ali both had FAR better footwork than Wlad. Ward and Floyd are better than Wlad because they're more skilled and have better resumes. Let's not fool ourselves into thinking the current HW division ISN'T a wasteland in terms of talent.
See, to you maybe it's unjustified, but then you're a fan and I wouldn't expect you to see it from the other side of the fence. Not to paint all K fans with the same brush, but a good many simply follow the K brothers and are not fans of the sport. You can see it from the way that they only show up in K threads, and never any other boxing thread. Then there is the baseless and strictly BS indignant cries of 'nationalism' and 'racism' whenever a K brother is criticised, all the while ignoring the much more obvious reason...if a certain someone tried to be more entertaining, then that certain someone would get more respect. It's quite simple really. K fans are a special breed...
Precisely. I happen to like all the above fighters too, as do many others. It troubles me when a collective group of fans all try and play the race card, and I think it says quite a lot about them collectively as fans. Also, when it's quite rightly pointed out that the Povetkin fight was a disgusting mess of a fight with little actual skill, and that this was more Wlad's fault than anyone's, the K fans (the real die-hards) will simply deflect the argument and point the finger at someone like Ali who also clinched, although not even he went nearly so far as in that fight. They simply will not accept that Wlad can do any wrong. Posters who criticise him are branded racists and haters, even when the criticism is 100% valid. :conf
But-But-You're being racist and anti-white, in spite of the fact that you probably like watching Provodnikov and Golovkin and Marciano. After all, everyone who thinks Wlad's last performance was boring is anti-white.
I'm a staunch supporter of the Klits, but even I can't defend Wlad for that God awful showing vs Povetkin or for opting to fight some unknown guy in his next fight. In contrast, I think Vitali is a very entertaining fighter, he takes chances and does not hold that much. The problem is, he's generally much superior to his opposition which made most of his matches look one sided, plus due in part to injury and now politics, he hasn't faced all viable contenders.
Vitali in his prime is one of the best HW I've ever seen. Granted, he's not Ali, but IMO, he's not far off. He has many more tools in his gearbox than his brother. Also, he has a warrior mentality and possesses an ATG chin.
How is that a German policy? Boxers fight where they make the most money. That is hardly a German thing. Michalczewski fought in Poland and Germany, where he could fill 15,000 seats and had established TV contracts. Same for Ottke. An ironic little sidenote: After Michalczewski called out Roy Jones Jr multiple times, RJJ was asked on a press conference if he was willing to fight Michalczewski. RJJ's reply "Who is Michalczewski?". During the press training for his next fight Michalczewski wore a t-shirt "Who is Roy Jones?" :rofl
In case you missed the news flash, boring and a lack of competition aren't racist attributes. I'm white and they bore me to death. In fact after that last fiasco of a fight Wlad put on, I have no intention of ever watching him again. And he chose to fight like that, when he never had to so this is the result of his actions, not my prejudges. And why Europe chooses to put up with that crap is a mystery to me. It's not that I don' think Wlad and Vitali have skills, they have it in spades, but similar to Floyd, I don't enjoy watching fights who have the apply to win decisively by KO and TKO and instead focus on their safety at the expense of our entertainment. I know it's harsh, but winning isn't everything, boxing is first and foremost part of the entertainment industry. That's why fighters such as Tyson and Duran are held in such high regard, because win or loose you knew they were going to fight and if necessary risk getting KO'd to win a fight. You don't get that win at all cost feeling from Wlad or Floyd.
