to be honest the way this went against him < I wouldn't be surprised if he did hang up the gloves now. But Carl is also a tough guy mentally and tends to bounce back from mistakes well..... so perhaps his next fight will be a strong performance we have grown accustomed to.

majr, groves has stated froch only has the choice of an immediate rematch or retirement. that's much stronger than you make out. sure, froch hasn't come across well through this, but most boxers don't.

Groves has said that the only option open to Froch to maintain his credibility and ensure that there isn't a lasting black mark on his legacy is to rematch and beat him properly. Quite a few people would agree with that sentiment.

It is not, as Froch has intimated, an agrument based upon "duty" but rather one based on pride and public perception. Not that Froch doesn't potentially have other fights out there but that those fights - unless its against Ward I suppose - would not be credible when he had to rely on a gift against Groves and was happier to sit on a highly controversial win in a fight he was losing instead of settling things properly.

    Agreed.

After the fight, Froch could have gone down two routes. The first one would've been to acknowledge the fact that He didn't perform very well, but he was catching him in the later rounds and Foster denied stopped the fight early, but will settle it in a rematch. The other route would be to do what he is doing now, which is loose lots of his fans. loose respect because he thinks he can pull the wool over everyone's eyes.

I always had a ton of respect for Froch until this fight.

It's not just Groves who wants this fight, it's the fans who made him "an international superstar" that want the fight.
If you are content to tell all these fan's to go **** themselves as well as Groves, then so be it. I hope not one person tunes into or buy's his next fight if it's not Groves.

He has been a completely deluded ***** as far as how this fight went down and he can take his legacy of a warrior who takes on all comers and throw it in the trash if he won't rematch Groves...

He tried buying the crowds silence during the post-fight interviews that night by saying "We can do it again" and now the silence from him is deafening.

A lot of people love or hate Mayweather but he should be given his just due. As soon as there was any controversy in his first fight with Jose Luis Castillo, he granted a rematch in his very next fight to set the record straight. That's what guy's who are truly confidant in themselves do. They PROVE the first fight was an aberration, a fluke.

Never thought I would say this but if Froch does fight Chavez or Ward hope he looses. Allways back British fighters but Carl is acting like a tool. He just keeps hanging himself with all his interviews and quotes. The guy clearly can't stand George and he knows deep down Groves schooled him and put him on his arse and showed him up. I don't agree with Carl being having mental toughness. He comes across as a very insecure fighter and person. Used to get really pissed at the stuff he came out with after the fight now I just lol.

George was down and out. Unless I was at a different fight Froch was the one who was down. Complete and utter tool. Shame the rematch looks doomed as George was the away fighter got boos weigh in and entrance to the ring yet put on a master class. If the 2nd fight did happen 2014 Carl would be the one getting boos. Don't think he could take it.

Just hope he sods off to US gets beat by Chavez and retires. Groves should set deadline and move on.

Hes made a real **** out of himself by not showing some humility and respect. Just watched the whole fight again on Sky and he was losing big, but i do think Groves was done in the 9th. The ref cost Froch a remarkable comeback stoppage. I do think there would of been a standing 8 and then an onslaught where Froch only needed to connect a couple more times for Foster to have jumped in legitimately. The way Groves arms slumped to his side and collapsed into the ropes after with his gum shield hanging out told me he was spent.
But the pair of them of getting on my tits now, Groves saying he wasn't in trouble but Froch more so with his complete disregard for what Groves put on him for 8 rounds. Rematch.

There is an article over on the Scene saying Ward would consider fighting Groves next!

How much of an embarrassment would that be for Carl Froch?!

This discussion is on, only because Groves and Froch are countrymen and a silly referee spoiled a definitive stoppage. Froch stopped Groves, the third man in the ring saving Groves from a bad beating. Froch had a bad night and even then by his great determination and strenght won the match.

Have any of these interviewers had the balls to ask froch why he thinks groves doesn't deserve a rematch yet he deserves one with Andre ward who beat him far more comprehensively?
