Khan is going to stink out the joint :rasta
Give Maidana a few more fights at 147 and he might be more prepared to KO Money:!:

Right now I would rather see Floyd face Uncle Roger:rofl:lol:

I'm not sure how dangerous Maidana is for Floyd. He obviously has no chance of out boxing Floyd and he couldn't KO Broner or even Khan so I don't think he has a chance of doing that to Floyd. Khan at least has beat quick, counter puncher types before and has lost to power punchers and pressure fighters and Floyd isn't either of those. Slow, plodding come forward type seems like the easiest style of all for Floyd to fight against.

Maidana would be ridiculously easy for Mayweather and has much less hand speed than him...

I dont understand, will never understand and will never take anyone seriously when they say khan is a tough matchup for floyd then turns around and says floyd would destroy pac. not saying thats what the op said. I still cant believe people believe floyd will destroy pac just because pac got ko`d by marquez. smdh

The main reason people think Khan would give Floyd trouble is because of the Judah fight, I admit I thought Khan was legit because of that fight but then I realised Judah was just a punching bag just like he was in the Malignaggi fight

Forget the Judah fight look at Khans other fights, Maidana, Peterson, Garcia and Diaz all delt with Khan's speed and hit him hard

Without Ariza making Khan's legs stronger he wont stand up to good punches, Mayweather would be timing him by the second round and stop him by the 8th, what will Khan do when Mayweather starts walking him down and catches his combos on arms and gloves, Mayweather will sit down on shots in this fight

Khan will be boring in the ring with FMJ. He will have to respect FMJ punches too much, and be overmatched. It will be like the normally high-output Agbecko in vs Rigo - Khan will be looking to survive for 12 rounds.

The one thing Maidana has going for him that could possibly give him a chance over everyone elses, is his stoicism. Everyone comes into the ring intimidated in one way or another against FMJ.

Not Maidana. FMJ and his handlers will be in front of the media, and talking about how invincible he is and generally treating the opponent, as Ring mag article just noted, like an employee.

Maidana will just eat his ramen noodles. Then punch FMJ. And keep punching him.

I dont think Maidanas skills are enough to beat Floyd. But he has a better chance than anyone else at 147, simply because he wont be mentally defeated before the fight even starts and will actually try and grab the win.

Maidana has a TITLE and is on a roll.

Khan has nothing to trouble Garcia let alone Mayweather.

Showtime has a guarantee of $40 million dollars to Floyd for all his fights, anyone who doesn't believe they have a say in who Floyd fights is pretty gullible.

That said, if they proceed with either Khan or Maidana, expect HBO and TR to counter program against this fight with another ppv or a WCB card, which would further hurt the Mayweather ppv numbers and exact some payback to what GB did against the Martinez-Chavez ppv, which was the last straw for GB to be allowed on HBO.

Keith Thurman is a nobody. Once he fights Ortiz or Porter we will see.

Maidana knows who Thurman is....hence the duckage.

So you gotta' be somebody to get a fight?
I thought ya'll hate that sort of thinking:think

Mabey Thurman should learn how not to gleek all over the microphone before he calls out boxers for ducking.

    Not very. More than Khan.

    Which is what I said.

Khan most certainly isn't doing either of those.

They are easiest for everybody, but was Maidana slow or plodding forward in straight predictable lines when he beat up Broner? No, he was attacking from unconventional angles in a broken rhythm, sometimes jabbing in (and, lest we forget, outscoring Broner with his jab) and sometimes charging with lead hooks.

All that said, neither has a style that should equate to bothering Mayweather too much. Maidana at least has a puncher's chance, and is more resilient than Khan and therefore likelier to get off the canvas if he is dropped by a pull-counter right or check hook (as both of them inevitably would be, Khan with his excessive hyperactive movement on the outside and Maidana coming in with head open).

As for Khan having it easy with quick counter punchers, however you scored it, whether you thought it a robbery or not, Peterson gave him a hard night's work and ran him extremely close - and Peterson isn't 10% of what Mayweather is.

Uh...yeah. So? :huh Pretty silly and unnecessary response to what you quoted there. I never said he wouldn't be easy or that he didn't have less speed than Mayweather. That's fairly obvious. The point I was making had nothing to do with Maidana; it was dispelling the oft-repeated myth that Khan is a) faster than Mayweather and b) has the style to beat him. Neither of those myths are really prevalent when it comes to Maidana so there is really not a need to point out the obvious there.

it could happen and this would be disastrous to their ppv count.

i remember showtime/gbp putting up the free canelo-j lopez against hbo/tr martinez-chavez ppv.

showtime/gbp also did this before with agbeko-mares 2 against the hbo/tr margo-cotto ppv.
