Why are so many ppl picking Martinez over Cotto?

    Cause I dont see it people.

    If all u gonna say is size then thats weak! Yes it will be a little factor but skills pay the bills (Martinez-Chavez and plenty of other fights) Martinez is not a big middle weight at all. to be honest he can probably fight at 154.

    Martinez hasnt showed me anything great since he KO paul Williams (outboxing Chavez anit ****) I've seen fights where hes lost plenty of rounds, been down 3 of his last 4 or 5 fights, keeps his hands down, but somehow hes gonna destroy Cotto right?? Based on what??

    Sorry guys i dont agree. Martinez hasnt fought anybody his whole career close to Cotto's skills, Cotto will come foward and bully Martinez like Murray did. add that with some serious body punching likes hes never seen before and i have Cotto by KO! Listen Martinez is gonna do what he always does, keeps his hands down...Man hes gonna get battered.

    Also u dont know how hes gonna come back from surgery. ppl will say well if hes 100% healthy Cotto has no shot but he just got outbox his last fight by Murray but now Cotto has not shot at all???....at all?? Giime a break.

    Cotto,MSG, day before Puerto Rican festvial, hes not losing that fight. sorry Martinez fans :hi::hi:

    The only way Martinez loses is if he's done. He may be done. The man is 40 years old with a ton of injuries.

    Sometimes you don't recover from that ****.

    But if this is the Martinez of old, he beats Cotto's ass. It's like a big Pacquaio.

    well, Cotto's old lady just called the police to the house cause Miguel was yelling at her, apparently. they said no violence or charges filed though. i'd say Ms Cotto knocks him out with the frying pan inside of 3 rounds.

    Reason is Cotto is an inflated 140lbs fighter who overachieved at welterweight & is a very small Jr. Middleweight.

    He will be at not only be a speed and power disadvantage but he will also be facing the strongest opponent of his life since fighting Margarito (Father).
    ^Not the blind catchweight disadvantage version

    Because Martinez has had a long time to recover from his injuries... D-Rod is levels below a healthy Martinez, and Murray fought a half handicapped Sergio.

    It will be a close fight, but Cotto is not bringing anything to trouble a healthy Sergio. A healthy Sergio however is too much of a moving target for Cotto to get off and establish his jab to set up power shots.

    If Martinez has fully recovered and still has 1-2 fights in the tank, he wins a 10-2, 9-3 type UD. If his knee is still an issue, Cotto takes a close decision or stops Sergio late.

    Murray staright up beat Martinez, enough of this handicapped Martinez stuff. he got hurt when he got dropped because he keeps his hands down all the time.

    Martinez does move but like I said his hands are down all the time and has been down numerous times, i expect the same in this fight.

    Yes D rod is levels below Martinez but Mayweather his levels above Martinez. yes Mayweather smaller but faster and way better defense and thats without Roach, just putting comparsions in there

    none of that **** you listed about PR festival, MGM ect is gonna help him in the ring, Martinez is a proven middleweight with wins over top middleweights...cotto never even beat a top junior middle. he is gonna get his ass kicked

    Thread starter is mayweather fan thou. Alot of mayweather fans became cotto fans after floyd fought him. Same happened when mayweather fought jmm.
