    Andrew Golota vs. Riddick Bowe I was the first thing that came to mind. Golota's stature really elevated after that fight.

    I'll throw in a possible,Jack Johnson, 37 years old, dissipated, homesick and fat.He went 26rounds with giant Willard in tropical heat ,and was in front after 20 rds.

    Most would agree with you, but I always felt that Meldricks best performance was against Aaron Davis w/ Buddy McGirt (even if Buddy didn't look his best, Meldrick deserves some credit for that!) being next. But most would agree with JCC for whatever reason even though I don't see it?

    Likewise I would say that Razor's best performances were not only pre-Tyson but pre Smith as well. I personally felt he was @ his best against Gross and Broad and find his performances against both Smith and Dokes superior to his performances against Tyson. Like Tyson I felt they were both in love with their power and had become mere headhunters by this stage of their respective careers.
