Why are so many ppl picking Martinez over Cotto?

Martinez is much faster, more talented, and is accustomed to MW. Cotto got schooled by a top JMW and has shown nothing at that weight. unless Martinez has truly bought the farm, he's going to annihilate Cotto. And I say that as a fan of both guys

 

Sergio's not a small MW, since moving up he's filled into the weight well. Miguel on the other hand is still a small JMW. Sergio hits harder, has faster hands, and quicker feet than Miguel. It's a mismatch on the physicality alone.

Prior to semi-retired journeyman Delvin Rodriguez, everyone agreed Cotto was shot. He took a major step back in his level to perform after Margo I. Only reason he won the rematch was because he was able to stay on his bicycle long enough for the damage inflicted by Pacquiao to cause Margo to stopped by the ref. Otherwise he running for his life in those late rounds. Pacquiao knocked Miguel down another performance level. He looked poor with Clottey, and not that impressive against weak JMW Foreman for his faux title. Cotto showed a lack of real punching power against Trout, where Alvarez and Lara showed that Trout wasn't invincible. Cotto is easily more shop worn than Sergio. Forget the DRod fight, it means little here.

Finally Cotto doesn't do well with southpaws. Judah, Trout and Pac landed better than 50% of their power shots on Miguel.


Miguel is significantly smaller, slower, more worn, and has the wrong style in this fight. Sergio will kill Cotto, this is a hype fight and they got you.

I hope this fight happens. The question is who will be Miguel's new trainer after he loses?

 

If Sergio is really done he might lose in a close one. Otherwise he is too strong and fast for Miguel. It'll be a beatdown, but at lest Cotto has the stones to fight him, unlike Floyd...

Pac fought him off the bricks, Cotto is alot better now and Martinez fights nothing like Pacquiao so bad comparsions bro

But if u think this is just a hype fight then your nuts. Im putting Cotto $2000 on Cotto by KOP because i think i seen Martinez on the canvas more then anybody else lately, dont see no reason why Cotto cant do it
