I think we will eventually see Ward/Golovkin, when it makes financial sense for both of them. Both fighters have a ways to go before reaching their respective financial peaks. If they both remain undefeated and continue to increase their fan-base and ratings, we could see a big PPV fight in 2015, but it will definitely be after GGG cleans out the 160 division, if he succeeds at that task. In 2014, Ward will probably work towards unifying some titles in the 168 division and continue working towards getting his fan-base built up.
I agree 100%. I too set the odds of winning at 60/40 Ward. I think Ward will use movement and speed from the outside to potshot his way to a decision. Ward might try some in-fighting with GGG. I'm still not 100% convinced that he can't be smothered by Ward, who is one of the best inside fighters in boxing. However, I'd give Ward more chance of success on the outside potshotting and using his boxing skills.
Stevenson called out Ward on HBO, but Ward ran away and hid without even responding. Stevenson said he would fight Ward at 175 or 168. Ward is a light heavyweight, but he starves to stay at 168 while refusing to fight anywhere except his own home turf with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, commentators, etc. Ward was the only one who did not have to travel in his tournament...............
Yeah: GGG will be forced to move up because Martinez and the other MW belt holders are not going anywhere near him. I really wonder if GGG will have HBO behind him when the Ward fight gets negotiated. RJJ exploited HBO much worse than Ward and he is still on their payroll doing shitty colour commentary. If you gave GGG a pint of vodka he would be more entertaining colour commentator than RJJ and Ward combined.
I hope not, Golovkin needs to stay at Middleweight and dominate there for a while before making a move up. Ward has other options at Super Middleweight anyway.
Adrien Broner. :hammertime ...and it's not a deflection, you must have missed my other post in this thread. :nod
There is nothing at 160 worth dominating.:hi: Why don't you GG fans want to see him dominate 168 as well as 160?:think If he fought Ward he would not have to abandon his MW crap-strap. I wonder why the bar is set so low for GG??
Broner has balls and ambition...something GG knows nothing about.:yep Plus he's YOUNG. GG fans are more than satisfied watching his old as.s dry up in a dead division..:deal
He's just following Ward's example except unlike Ward he will actually travel. Stick to your division just like Hagler, Hopkins and Calzaghe did for years.
I see mr pibbs in denial after his boy getting SCHOOLED By Maidana.:yep I mean it is okay to lose it happens.:deal But getting schooled By Maidana is something else.
That's pretty much what Broner has left... a delusional perception of himself, and his testicles. That is all. Golovkin wants to be crowned the king of MW before he moves up, it makes perfect sense. Might be a bit too much asking from you on a comprehension level, though. It's ok, it's ok... we'll keep it simple from here on out. :think
Ward and Hagler were in competitive divisions. I don't even know why you mentioned The Welsh Rabbit.. Funny how nobody is calling for this soon to be 32 y/o GG to "challenge himself" like they do for other fighters. After all His handlers said he'd fight ANYBODY for 154 to 168....:hi: GG has the resume of a 21 y/o prospect...time for old dude to make a move.
Broner is still in a better financial position than GG:hi: Why be crowned king of a non-competitive division?? Your foreigner fighters aren't very ambitious. When 135 dried up Broner moved on....too bad GG doesn't have balls like that.
