How would a fight between these two go? Both relied almost exclusively on power, but both hit extremely hard. Try to keep it to stylistic considerations, rather than the old versus new debate.
Haye would be tentative against a puncher like Max. Yes, Haye could and probably would make him miss and look slow, landing some counters, but Max's chin is top shelf. Max would be relaxed and having fun while Haye backpedals and looks to counter. If Max lands anything solid or with any consistency, Haye is done. Ultimately, Max is too rough and too much for Haye. Baer KO11 Haye
i dunno....wild top of my head comment this...cause i always have scratched my head when it comes to baer baer looks like a drunk outside a pub at night swinging wildly trying to get to the better schooled haye....but haye will be wary and keep his distance and backpedel and fire in the odd jab before getting on his bike again...haye will be aware of baers solid chin and massive power and it will show. an ugly boring fight with baer winning on points based on him being more aggressive... to sound of boo's.
I think Max had such a solid chin it nullify s David power shots and Max is able to land a few of his awkward ones (lets assume we are talking about a fit & conditioned Max like he was for Schmeling) I think he gets Dave to whither and Dave gets more defensive but Max pulls it out of aggression and Hayes avoidance to exchange. MB by KO or KD UD
Yeah, the difference is the chin here. Baer had one of the all-time best, and Haye? Well let's just say its suspect, at best. Unless Haye pulls some disgraceful survival antics like he did in the Klitschko fight, this fight ends in a brutal mid-to-late rounds KO, with Baer well ahead. If Haye pulls **** like he did against Wlad, he looses a wide UD, after hitting the canvas a few times, both voluntarily and involuntarily.
Sorry guys, gotta disagree here. Max was strong, tough and could bang, but against a careful counterpuncher like Haye his often clumsy style would leave him quite vulnerable I think. I don't think much of Haye...he is not a true fighter by definition if you ask me, but he is fast, moves well, waits for openings and can bang himself. I just see Max walking into something big more than once. Perhaps if he gets close to Haye and can make it a roughhouse, mauling, untidy type of fight, I can see an argument. Chisora was able to put some pressure on Haye and David didn't seem to take to it well. However, if he allows Haye space and time to pick his shots, Max is in trouble.
Haye would easily destroy Baer. Baer (and all his peers) would look primitive next to a modern day HW like Haye. Haye by easy KO.
Elroy, you are that causal fan... There are countless examples of fighters who don't look as tough or aren't as strong winning. You constantly contradict yourself to suit your point. I'll just give Trinidad vs Joppy as an example of where your whole agenda falls short... And before I get going, mind you, of course after reading this, you'll disagree and say this isn't what you would have said and that I am wrong, but that will just prove your contradictory and ******ed ways again... I will speak as the magnificent Elroy as if he hasnt seen this fight and has no knowledge of it (quite possible in reality), but is picking a winner: "Joppy is a strong, muscular, athletic natural middleweight who has much better skills than Trinidad. Trinidad is weak string bean with no muscles and is naturally smaller. He is slow and one-dimensional and will easily be beaten by Joppy, who has much better skills and strength. Trinidad doesn't really have power, he might be able to stop smaller, weaker slower non-skilled fighters at welter, but Joppy is much bigger. Trinidad's "power" won't affect Joppy because Joppy has much better skills, strength, and is more athletic than the weak, slow, Trinidad who has no skills." To the casual fan or person off the street, looking at them, one would think that Joppy is going to manhandle Tito. Joppy has a strong, tight physique and that's impressive to someone who doesn't know anything about what it takes to win a fight or anything about the fighters... What happened in reality, of course, is a decimation of Joppy, who was never in the fight. Absolutley destroyed. So how is this, and countless other examples that could be cited, not upsetting to your whole agenda and thought pattern regarding your heavy bias toward "strength" and size....?
Disastrous match up for Haye. Why does Haye keep getting matched up with ATG's on the forum? He barely - barely - beat the atrocious Valuev, shat himself, almost literally, against Wladimir Klitschko. And that, really, is it, isn't it?
