So much attention has been given to the beautiful KD and KO punches of JMM over Pac (I personally find the KD much much sweeter since JMM really made Pac think he was throwing another jab to the body then BAM!) but this is the first time I've seen this from top view so bear with me. Scroll to 00:36 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtjSckoZ6R0 Many fans (no I'm not referring to the fanboys) claim that this was a slip and "not really a knockdown". I just don't see it that way. It was a solid left hand lead and you can see JMM getting momentarily stiff legged and stunned then finally falling to his side. It was almost the same way that JMM KO'd Pac in that JMM was charging forward when Pac used JMM's momentum to throw and magnify that otherwise non-concussive left straight. You can see JMM's head snapping back AN AWFUL LOT. Contrary to popular opinion, JMM's and Pac's feet DID NOT get tangled at all. Pac didn't even step on JMM's foot. He withdrew his foot (and body) as soon as the left hand connected. P.S. This video also includes the entire round 6 so feel free to finish the clip. MAN THESE FIGHTERS WERE REALLY TRUE TO THEIR WORD AND TRYING TO DECAPITATE EACH OTHER. I wish more boxers were the same.
the fight ended in a ko. no point going into this **** if there is no fight to look forward to. it was a good win for marquez. my personal opinion is he got lucky. case close.
No it wasn't. Marquez has fought Pacquiao four times, he knows everything about Pacquiao. How can anyone argue otherwise?
Pacquiao's foot was on top of Marquez' causing Marquez to lose his balance when the shot landed. Marquez was'nt hurt from that shot, its one of those freak things that happens.
He wasn't hurt in the sense that he wasn't in any danger of getting taken out (if anything, he would put Pac on ***** street later in that same round when he landed a nearly identical punch as that of the KO punch), but I just don't see any toes getting stepped on clearly and if Pac did, I just don't see it as the reason JMM went down. JMM's head snapped way back and he got stiffed leg when the punch landed as is clearly seen in the video. Watch JMM's rear leg as the punch landed. You can see he went stiffed legged and wobbly for a fraction of a second as he took the full impact of the punch without complete leverage from the floor. This is synonymous to Judah KD-ing Mayweather. It was a clear solid knockdown where one fighter's momentum was used against himself.
I tend to like to discuss the technicalities of the sport from time to time. Pac's lead left is one of the best straight lefts in the sport. And this is one of those rather perfect counters of Pac that sadly got labeled "a slip due to entangling of their legs" when it's very clear that there wasn't any. And now it appears they're switching to "Pac stepped on JMM's toes". And who knows, maybe they get to fight one more time.:bbb
Because the general are stupid. Pacquiao was clearly starting to get to Marquez at that point and had him seriously hurt. There's a reason Marquez suffered a concussion after the fight.
