golovkin did far better against rosado than kid chocolate did and against macklin than sergio did. they both ran from him. stick that in your obsession with his resume.

Punchers tend to look good against weak opposition. I don't rate Quillin anymore.

Aren't they all decent punchers though?

David Tua belongs on this list, he never knocked out a single durable fighter ever. He was the wilder of the 90s, but unlike wilder, he actually stepped up (and lost)

Moorer, maskaev, rahman, all guys with dodgy chins and thse are tuas bst wins

You don't say. Tyson immediately comes to mind.

This is nothing new. Tyson wrecked 20 bums before challenging Berbick and went into the fight a 3:1 betting favorite.

you CANNOT have a thread like this WITHOUT Windmill Wilder. Unproven puncher, 100% KO ratio, knocked down by Harold Sconiers

Indeed. Why is it that people don't learn though? How could Lemieux or Kirkland ever get so big without having faced anyone with a pulse? Being a puncher simply isn't that big a deal if you had no opportunity to test your boxing skills. Eventually, an adversary will not succumb to your punches or has figured you out and dodges them with ease - that's where your boxing skills, which were not required in crushing bums, kick in. And unless that has happened, I refure to rate punchers highly.

Nobody rates him. So yes, I can have a thread like this without him.

Faerun, I agree with you there. I think casual people think its all about having a punch (and a chin), so they get carried away with a record of KO 1/2. They don't realize punch and chin are two of maybe 6-7 crucial components that all work together.

    So what?

Slow motion Angulo did better against Rosado than GG:hi::hi::hi:

He vaporized Rosado in two rounds and didn't get touched....it took GG 7 and he needed endswell.

    Gabe isn't even a MW.

Time for GG to challenge himself..:deal

Ya'll seem reluctant for him to do so....maybe you aren't confident in his skills.
