I used to be a big fan of the Ring but have gone off the mag completely. I kind of lost faith with the rankings. I have been keeping an eye on their 2013 P4P list every now and then, and Froch has not had a sniff even after quality wins over Bute and Kessler, then after a very close call with George Groves he enters at #10?? How the devil do they run their rankings? I appreciate it a mythical list but the whole thing is a joke. Pacquiao #7? Alvarez #9? Bradley above Rigondeaux?
It's not done by a ratings panel just by one guy called Chuck Giampa who and Broner fan so clearly a dick head. In their latest magazine they did a p4p top 100- done by a committee and the top 10 was a bit more respectable.
Lost respect for the ratings a while ago, thney seem to be catered to suit at times. I did this post on the 28th of this month This also on the 28th of this month This on the 23rd of November There are other queries which I have mentioned
Wish people would stop with the Ring P4P thread whinging. It has been a shambles for a few years now and isnt the gospel it once was so in the big picture it should only mean anything to those that KSAB.
The Ring has come on hard times. Its credibility certainly isn't what it used to be. I find myself looking more toward the Transnational Rankings recently. McGrain and the gang do a pretty darn good job.
Froch should have been there a long time ago. The fact Adrien Broner somehow sneaked in there with his biggest "win" been a VERY close decision over C-Level boxer, Paulie Malignaggi is the biggest joke.
