Why are so many ppl picking Martinez over Cotto?

We'll see. Everybody and they mama thought i was crazy when I bet Pac by KO against DLH (made $3500 damn that was a good Christmas) and bet Mosley by KO against Margarito to win $2500. I see the same scenario here. All guy were underdogs, all were smaller, in Pac;s case moved up 2 weight classes Cotto would only move 1, all those opponets were younger then Martinez and not coming off surgery.

If Martinez has recovered for just 80%, I can't see Cotto take it.

The reach, height and power advantages alone give Maravilla a significant edge.
He has been a full blown MW since right after Knocking Cintron out to get the draw back in 2009, while Cotto never even fought at the weight.
Not to forget there's a good reason why Floyd never fought him while Martinez really wanted that fight even at 154. And the Floydettes get enraged by the thought because "Maravilla is too big, and people just want to see Floyd lose".

I think Cotto will get layed out, no matter how much I like the dude.

Same could've been said for Pacquiao when he fought DLH. he only had so called light weight power but KO DLH. Yes Martinez isnt that but Martinez has been down, coming off surgery, and im sure Cotto has power to hurt at man that keeps his hands down all the time

 

everyone talks about size, size and size. What about who is the better boxer? I highly doubt Martinez will be guns blazing in this fight. Cotto has better boxing skills that could win him a decision. imo its a 50/50 fight but leaning towards cotto due to having Roach in the corner.

 

Pavlick was a much bigger, stronger and better fighter than Cottoe and we all saw what Martines did to him. I can't wait to see Sergioe licking his chops at the thought of having that tiny Rican across the ring from him. After all, they don't call him KNEEguel for nothing.
