Burns told Sky Sports News that he has "unfinished business" with Beltran, who has responded by telling his rival to stop lying.

"Burns is just making excuses to look good to his fans and prove that he is a brave guy, which I agree he is brave, but stop lying and keep it real," Beltran told the World Boxing News website.

"The fact is that at the end of the day I whooped him. I broke his jaw, I sent him to the canvas and I beat him clear.

"He just had the advantage because I wasn't just fighting him; I was fighting the referee and the judges. If we fight in a neutral place he knows what's going to happen.

"Unfinished business... what's he talking about," added Beltran. "That belt doesn't fit him any longer it's too big! I would be embarrassed to carry that belt or even show it like I'm a champion."

If a rematch were to happen, what should Burns do differently? What do you think Billy?

He shouldn't get in the ring. He cant hack it at semi decent level.

A bit too harsh mate. Rick has done more than well at semi-decent level, in fact Ricky beat Martinez, Katsidis, Moses and Mitchell and they are above semi decent level. Gonzalez was a class act, but he couldn't beat Ricky. Ok i agree Ricky should have lost to Beltran and i can see where Ray's coming from here, but Ricky should be getting more respect after all he has should us that he has one of the best hearts in boxing in his last two fights.
The thing is Beltran should be looking at his own performance in that fight as he couldn't finish a guy off who had a broken jaw from the 2nd round on and not just that but he lost the last two rounds of that fight as well. I mean Ricky's jaw was busted and he still finished the stronger fighter. Beltran is insecure deep down about his performance.

Feel for Ray i really do. Sadly i don't see many wanting to offer up their titles in a voluntary. He's done it the hard way and was robbed of his title and crowning moment.

I just hope he does somehow get another opportunity.

RICKY BURNS is a very good fighter, sometimes 1 fight can tarnish what you've acheived, fought the best he could, had some hard fights in a row, and 1 more to come, even if he loses next time what a great fight him and beltran could put on, at say a major las vegas event, as chief support.

Why? We did not sign up to an illegal war or anything. One of our fighters got lucky. It helps balance out some of the screw jobs we have suffered in past. That hardly something to be ashamed about.

Burns and his team were a disgrace after that fight. Should have signed an immediate rematch and publically apologised to Beltran.

TBH screw jobs dont cancel each other out it just leads to other countries questioning the fairness of fighting in that country. British fighters often are on the wrong end on decisions in Germany for example but if everytime a German fighter came to fight here and got screwed it wouldnt fix anything it would just make the world think the judging here is bias too

its funny how people are all of a sudden high on ricky burns now after a few recent interviews and with him fighting crawford next march people seem to be giving him the benefit of the doubt. burns will lose his belt, he needs dodgey promoters like fish eyes to safe guard him, he's a paper champion all the way, and i'm looking forward to seeing crawford take that belt away from him.
