In What weightclass do you rank Pacman highest ATG?

Guys like Ricardo Lopez, Aaron Pryor are easily ranked high in their division

It's more difficult with guys jumping weightclasses & winning big at higher weightclasses, Oscar De La Hoya, Chavez, RJ

In the case of Pacman where was his prime weight, I think the science of quality weight gain changed this a bit...or maybe its Pacman unique punching style :huh

hard to say because he has done big things at so many so his achievements have been fairly well spread out. but when i think of pac i think 140 pac had the aura of invincibility

I understand, that was his fame peak. He only fought once at 140 the Hatton fight...He looked so invincible afterwards :yep

He had an excellent career at 122, making 11 successful title defenses. His wins against Mab & Morales ranks him high in 122, especially that it's a modern weight class.

How high do you rank Pacman in 140?

At 122 I have Pacman #2 in his highest ranking after Wilfred Gomez , I rank him lower in alternative ranking where Morales and Mab are ranked higher than him.

In 140 he took out Hatton, but it'. Difficult to compare him to the rest. Pryor is ahead of him...So he can't be 140 GOAT either

the pac that fought dela hoya cotto was basically 140 stuffed up, is the same guy that fought hatton.

so id say around 140+/- few lbs (dela hoya, hatton, cotto) was his most dominant.

he was never settled at 147 until/after the clottey fight.

    weight class doesnt define pac.

What was his natural weight class? At what age was he considered fully grown? He went from Flyweight to Super Bantam in the space of 3 months, there's got be an element of 'still growing' for that to happen. Looking at him now I would say his best weight would be 135 as supposedly he was rehydrating over 10lbs at 130lbs but had he already begun working with Ariza to get bigger at that point?
With the way weigh-ins and alphabet titles work these days no-one really makes a single weight class their own anymore so I'd answer it by saying what I think is his most effective weight class as an adult which is probably either 130 or 135.

And yeah he's legacy is doing what no-one has done before as far as weight classes go, so the question is kind of irrelevant. I do think an interesting topic is what's Pac's natural weight class though.

Eventually we have to pick Pacman his best weightclass, otherwise he will be excluded from all ATG of weightclass lists, which is unfair

His career depth as of now is still 122, if he becomes undisputed in 140 I will start favoring him there, since 140 is not as deep as 135 ATG

I doubted Pacman can become Undisputed in 140 at this stage, so it could be 122

it is safe to say he is not going back to 140 at this point.

there is not enough challenge in there that will make people pay.

he has done so much that fighting in his natural weight wont be a challenge anymore.

eating 5x a day to campaign in his 7th div is already a challenge in itself no matter the opponent.

the norm was fighters kill themselves to get a weight advantage on fight night.

    pac changed boxing forever.

I always thought that Pac could have been the greatest @ 140. It's his ideal weight, IMO.

pac that beat dela hoya, hatton, cooto was basically the same pac.

pac casn easily make 140 for those fights but needs to stuff up for a better punch resistance on 2 of those.

I am asking about his legacy, if we have to pick Pacquiao the division where he ranks highest ATG what division will that be. He could become more solid at 140 by getting a couple more wins there

In 140 he fought once, he has to be behind Pryor. How does your 140 ATG list look like

In 122 he has 11 successful title defenses, and holds wins against 122 top ATGs -in fights happening a bit north, still helpful- so we can make a strong case for Pacman being #2 ATG right after Wilfredo Bazooka Gomez

If you judge it objectively as opposed to just imagining how good he would have been had he settled in at a weight class then you'd have to say super bantamweight. Which I can admit that I don't know a great deal about the atg's of this class. Otherwise I'd say welter but he doesn't even crack the top 20.
