The problem here is Floyds 154 Lineal title.

A private company like the ring or the WBC can give a title to anyone they want I have no issue with that.

But you cannot win the lineal title , the universal championship, at a weight class- THEN change the limit of that weight class.

    How can you ?

The ring and the lineal title these days USUALLY go hand in hand.
But this is not one of those times.

This was not a 154 bout- give the man the alphabet soup titles if you want- give him the magazine title if you want-

    but...

don't tell me the LINEAL 154lb title was on the line against Alvarez, because it wasn't.

Williams, it should be noted, was about to suffer his first loss to Carlos Quintana, who showed that an accurate counter-puncher could give him problems. Yeah, El Indio was a southpaw, but it was also a case of styles making fights. Think Floyd "Laras" PW, and actually gets the decision in this case.

Floyd called Mosley out well before that.

Suddenly Mayweather beats ODLH and becomes the money man and all come calling.

How come Arum didn't let Cotto fight Mayweather in 2006?

Cotto recently revealed that Arum never mentioned a Mayweather fight to him(while he was going around claiming Floyd was ducking) and he never asked for the fight himself.

It's because of management on both ends. Both know that they could use the popularity they already have to promote and sell other fights rather than wasting it all on one big money fight. Sadly, this is how business works. If they gave you everything too soon what will be left to be excited about after that?. As much as I hate this, it's reality.
