You need to rewatch the fight or take your own advice, Lucas did change game plan, he was not using a notable jab until that point. This was also pointed out as it was very apparent also. Lucas came out trying knock Danny's block off, then transitions to slowing and using his jab more/boxing, not sure what you're trying to accomplish ignoring this very obvious observation. Danny got him to change things up, it was Danny, the more skilled fighter, that remained virtually unchanged.
Re-watch the fight? No thanks we can agree to disagree, the awesome thing about watching fights is it's ambiguous viewing. Im not always satisfied with nodding my head to everything the commentators spit out. Think about it...if in fact Lucas changed tact and Danny remained static wouldn't the ebb and flow change with it? Wouldn't their be pockets of truly defining moments that we can describe in colorful detail? Instead what we saw was a natural progression on Danny's part where he closed the distance and found his timing so I agree with your mention of Danny remaining unchanged while I disagree with your idea and even the commentators idea of Lucas implementing several different strategies throughout the fight.
