I'm not sure what are you trying to imply with that comment, but yeah, I believe that Povetkin would have a fair chance to stop a static target in Foreman. Also, Povetkin has a very good chin himself, as he was never stopped in his career (both amateur and pro), and the only time he was knocked down was recently against Wladimir, with maximum one knockdown in the fight being truly legit in my opinion. That's why I said that it's disrespectful towards Povetkin, one of the most accomplished super-heavyweights, to compare him to 42 years old Foreman. I've already seen this kind of bashing towards the guy and it's getting quite out of hand now.
Guido Trane, Axel Schulz and Tommy Morrison make me think Povetkin would win a decision. Or at least deserve to win a decision.
Alex Shultz fight was when George was 46, and I think he was better than Povetkin. Either a close UD for Povetkin or a KO for George in any round.
Have you ever seen Schultz fight? He had no power and always needed the judges who robbed him time and time again. The only real loss he had was to spoiler Akinwande in their rematch, but otherwise he got robbed 3 times (including against Foreman from wich I'm a big fan) in a row against big names and should have been IBF and linear champ in all 3 of those fights. He might be the most underrated HW from the 90's.
Povetkin win this easily. He took Wlad's bombs and got up. And he has a much much better workrate than Schulz. 42 year old Foreman loses on points.
Povetkin is very average, he's had 27 fights over 8 years, his best wins are fat Eddie Chambers, shot Bryd and a Hepatitis suffering Chagaev, he also got beat up by Huck and should have lost. He has a chance of outpointing Foreman if he gets his tactics spot on but I don't think he's good enough or elusive enough to avoid Foreman catching him with something big and stopping him.
You can't be serious? Schulz was earning a living as a TV mechanic when he got the title shot against Foreman. Schulz was a feather-fisted, highly average boxer with a decent chin. He was famous for being unable to put together any form of combination. He just couldn't! Povetkin is leaps and bounds better than Schulz.
Average fighters don't become European, World and Olympic champions. As the matter of fact, only the special ones do that.
Audley Harrison, Olympic champion, European champion and WBF heavyweight champion of the world. Now povetkin is clearly better than AFarce but in this era of multiple titles and a weak heavyweight division even a fighter like Audley was able to achieve what Povetkin has done. Prior to Povetkin's fight with Wlad everyone was saying how he didn't have a hope, how he was going to be KO'ed, how he had been protected, now he's actually fought Wlad and made him look bad suddenly he's something special. Povetkin is very ordinary, pretty good for this era but nothing special.
