to predict the future, you have to look at history/pattern.

Floyd does have a loooong history of ducking/avoiding threats.

There both fighting above there weight because 147 is where the Money's at, as well as the recognition. The general public often overlooks anyone below WW, and thus they wouldn't draw he numbers they have if they hadn't moved up.

if u call weight draining opposition to have an advantage (both floyd and pac have done this...) "taking risks" then i have to agree with u.

The fight not happening effects Floyd's long term legacy more than Pacs imo.

Floyd thinks hes smart flashing his money, talking ppv sales, hand picking opponents stylistically etc but that will always be part of the legacy he is remembered for, there will always be question marks about him despite being the finest fighter since sugar Ray Leonard imo because of his calculated, no risk business approach.

Mayweather v Pacquiao should have been the defining fight of an entire era and people will always remember Mayweather being the main obstacle as why that fight didn't happen, he's basically robbed an entire generation of boxing fans of the sports golden moment.

Pac will be remembered for epic series of battles with outstanding rivals like Barrerra, Morales, Marquez and his finest performance versus Cotto.

Mayweather will be remembered for being levels above all his opponents but choosing business over legacy, and the biggest shame in all that was that it was well within his capability to have beaten prime Pacquiao and cemented a legacy as a top 10 ATG.

roger and floyd sr both said in interviews...."why should floyd jr have to fight all these killers? let them fight each other and he can fight the ones still standing when the smoke clears." smart for business....bad for boxing. the biggest fight to be made at that time was floyd/cotto...and that was right after cotto beat mosley and floyd beat hatton. floyds retirement deprived us of that match up. the other match up that i wanted to see was floyd/williams. i thought both cotto and williams were serious threats.

Glad he admitted it's bogus early without using that nonsense story to hype his next fight.

    no.

both weight drained their opposition...but margarito was coming off quite a few wars and his brutal loss to mosley.

even though i thought canelo loss to trout...he was far less damaged than margarito at the time pac faced him.

if you really think about it, floyd at this stage don't need haymon.

if floyd has a license to promote his fights, he also don't need gbp.
