It's kind of a shame that a major promoter has waited till he officially lost his 'o' for Spaddy to get a decent fight/payday, which I'm sure they used to lowball him. That said, I kind of like the idea of the fight, but Brook should honestly be aiming higher.
With the level of opposition Kell has fought so far, Spadafora would be a huge step up, thats the scary part. But Eddie Hearn wont risk a fight like that. Spadafora can make him look bad, and Hearn wont take any chances if he fights before his mandatory title shot. Even a 90/10 fight would be to risky for them.
Amazingly, this will be one of Brooks' top 5 opponents, right? Wait for him to take his first defeat at his lofty age and then jump on the fight that Spadafora's been clamoring for (anyone of any notable caliber) for a couple years now. I would have actually been cool with this announcement had it been before Spadafora just lost like 2 months ago.
Kell Brook's chin must really be made out of that grade A british China, if they are really trying to match him with Slapafora. He didn't even win his last fight.
Why not? They could introduce him to the American crowd before they put him up against Porter (He is next in line for a title shot right?)
Spadafora could have 10 losses, he will remain part of Mayweather Duck list Margarito, Paulie Williams, Pacman & Spadafora
Lol shut up. At no point in time should Spadafora/Mayweather have been made. And I'm a Spadafora fan (in the ring, atleast).
If it was easy, it would have been done... Spadafora always will remain a guy that Mayweather ducked :smoke There is no logic in claiming a fight should not happen, every risky fight should take place. Your anti avoidance enabling mentality is exactly, why Mayweather will always be below Pacquiao in legacy...Having no fans is better than having double digit IQ fans
Coming directly off a loss? :!: Hell, even Carson (both times) and Senchenko were coming off a cushion of positive results when he fought them. The last time Brook fought someone coming directly off a loss was Lovemore N'Dou and before that Barrie Jones almost six years ago. Why not reward Johan Perez for actually popping Spadafora's cherry and dispelling his years of hype by giving him a chance? If he is half what they claim him to be Brook shouldn't have anything to worry about with Perez...so he may as well reward success and increase the amount of credit he'll get rather than reward failure and decrease it.
if this takes place, i'm going to officially label Kell a joke of a fighter, because this is getting damn silly now. when is he going to fight for his first title? when he's bloody 50 or something after having 100 "final" eliminators? get the Porter fight. you're the mandatory! anything less is worthless.
I get the impression they will give Alexander a rematch first.... Then Alexander wins..... And there is a rubber match. :-(
