This is a guy who struggled with a washed up Soto Karass for 9 Rounds straight after getting wobbled by him in the 1st. Only positive I've noticed about him that stands out is a powerful jab, no doubt that if he utilizes it in a prolific manner it will deal out great damage to his opponents and even lead to knockdowns, his jab is that powerful. Overall Keith Thurman is SLOW, he's a 25 year old young man but with the hand speed of a 35 year old washed up past his prime fighter, his skills aren't even top notch I would say slightly above average. His footwork is very good, I would definitely put his footwork in top 5 at 147. His power is good but he doesn't have the power to stand toe to toe and bang with real killers like Matthysse and Provodnikov.

Maidana, Matthysse, Provodnikov would all put him on the backfoot and KO him. To the fanboys who said Thurman will be the one to defeat Mayweather, your boy is too SLOW to even touch Mayweather let alone threaten him.

Is all this hype because he's American and the fans in the U.S want a new American champion to root for? An Eastern European fighter with his attributes and skills with the exact same resume would be seen as just another "slow power puncher who hasn't been exposed yet" but you guys are jumping on this dudes bandwagon. What's so unique and special about this fighter? Because honestly I don't see anything too impressive about him.

Since when is winning every round and scoring a knockout considered struggling...Karrass caught him early but Karrass had much more success banging Maidana up...at least he one a few rounds...

You mention maidana but yet forget to mention washed up soto as you say put on a way better performance vs maidana then he did with Thurman lmfao. This shows you a dumb a$$ that don't know what the hell you talking about. Thurman got stunned but he bounce back very quick and then easily dominate soto easily. Thurman got a hard speed jab with speed power to go along with it. He's going to get better and better.

The only time Karass had the man in trouble was the first 30 secs when he landed that shot. Nothing beyond that troubled Thurman.

Thurman gave the guy a boxing lesson of a lifetime and knocked him out after 9 rounds of destruction.

He certainly didn't struggle against karass but I wasn't impressed. I think Keith is somewhat of a hype job. He seems to be improving, but I agree that at this point he gets mangled by most of the guys he will have to be getting in with in the near future. We'll see. I think his ability as a boxer and as a brawler have both been over exaggerated. If u wanna make a welterweight look like a fast slick boxer there's no one better to put him in with than karass. Thurman is not fast.

Keith moves too well and punches too hard to say he's a hypejob.

He's smart and has a good trainer.

Seems foreign fighters that haven't done anything get the benefit of the doubt but not our own for some odd reason.
