theirs a few reasons

1 he new he only had a couple of rounds max left he was badly hurt and their was a big chance he was getting finished

2 was not really a lucky shot he throws that shot all the time at pacquiao he just connected perfect

3 he fights pacquiao loses then the ko goes down as a lucky punch and he loses it on his legacy

 

This guy is right in everything he says here. Marquez is one of my favorite ever fighters and a great. He is a multi multi multi millionaire and I don't think he's straped for cash haha. His Paquiao legacy is like a story, he won't want to break it.

He has been talking about hainging up the gloves since before pac vs jmm 3. At this point he wants to fruther his legacy. He is not broke like pac, aside from boxing he is known for having properties & buisness in mexico. Hell for all we know he is probably involved with the cartels lol. Either way he is not broke, he has said on hbo 24/7 that he has been thinking of hainging them up & unlike most boxers he has a education & plans to pick up on accounting like he used to do. Kind of dumb calling a millionaire dumb when you are not one, plus he lives in mx, American $ go a long way in MX.

The real question should be why would you want your idol to be matched with a 41 year old? I would rather see him fight Rios again than old man JMM.

They had a great 4 fights nobody wants to see another.

 

Sometimes pride is worth more than money. Marquez knows he has a good chance of losing his next fight with Pac so he opted not to fight him anymore.

 

why even a 5th fight, pacquiao had 4 chances to shutout marquez but didnt do it convincingly...and if Pac wins the 5th fight...then a 6th fight?!

and theres no better way to end the rivalry than that KO.
