There is no need to prove these points, YOU just did

Lewis and Vlad weren't KO'd by much smaller men were they?

They were KO'd by men a lot bigger, and heavier than either Louis or Marciano. Yet both have fought, and beaten smaller men than themselves.

The very existence of weight divisions proves those statements. Lewis and Wlad were stopped by big guys, not 185 lb plodders.

I can't believe the "chin" discussion going on here!

Sure, you can find plenty of big guys with weak chins - just like you can find lots of smaller guys with strong chins.

But if you take a 200 lbs heavyweight and enlarge/scale him up until he hits 250 lbs... is there really any doubt, that the latter version takes a better punch? Come on, how can any sane person dispute this?

Perhaps these nostalgists have never heard of Nikolai Valuev?

About as useless as Carnera, or Willard, but never off his feet.

If the level of one man's defensive anticipation matches the speed of punch as the hardest hitter of all time he is not going down. Why? Because it is the punch you don't see that knocks you out. Even when contact is made the abilty to ride the blow and prepare yourself for impact at the last moment can be the difference between the exact same punch knocking you spark out or merely getting your attention.

So much has to do with positioning, distance, travel of the punch, follow through and establishing the perfect impact with the right part of the glove. It was far, far less to do with strength OR BODY MASS, MUSCLES OR BEING HEAVIER. A great fighter can walk onto a jab and go down if he is unlucky enough to put his chin in the way at the wrong angle, moving in the wrong direction at just the right moment during the travel of the punch where it gathers its maximum torque at just the wrong moment.

I don't care if it is George Foreman, Mike Tyson, David Tua or Crazy Ike Ibeabuchi and all his muscles.... if they spend all night only tagging you with the tail end of their punch and you are good enough to react to each and every movement they make anticipating and predicting everything they do then they could hit you a hundred times and not hurt you.

The best puncher is the guy who can land his best punches more often against the best level of fighter who is usualy hard to hurt or hit.

if you did not have the right level of instictive anticipation or experience even the lightest punch knocks out the toughest chin.

Bowe knocked out Holyfield? Did you even see any of the Bowe-Holyfield fights?

Wait, stupid question. Of course you haven't seen those fights.

Jesus you're really clutching at straws to slag him off now aren't you? Are you seriously gonna claim it was a bad stoppage?

The other day you embarrassed yourself with your firm belief that great fighters are "feather fists" if ever they go the distance in even matched fights.

What makes you think you can dispute what "basic stuff" is?

How do you explain Tyson Fury being so easy to knock down, then?

The same way that I "explain" why not every 6'6 guy is good at basketball - some people just don't have it, i.e. the coordination, reflexes, etc. It's not really that complicated.
