    Eras boys.
    68 Tua vs. 98 Chuvalo.
I don't know, I think George (obviously a better chin) prevails. George never really bled and cut except in a couple of fights. Can you see Tua turning him into a bloody, pulpy mess??
I would have like to have been ringside for the matchup, it would have been the proverbial ''pier 6 brawl".

True, amazing how much a ride Tua gets out of stopping Ruiz.

Ruiz went on to be a long time belt holder (though highly disliked), whereas Tua went on to fail in lone champion ship fight and faded into oblivion.

Chuvalo was one tough SOB, what a gladiator. Watching interviews of Chuvalo today, he seems largely unaffected from the pounding he took. Thats one tough jaw. Still aside from Quarry and Doug Jones, he lost all his big fights, and I imagine Tua would be no different.

Chuvalo's manager, Irving Ungerman, fearing for Chuvalo's life tosses in the towel before Chuvalo goes down, preserving Chuvalo's streak of never having been off his feet. Tua by TKO-4.

Still...if I'm ever in a back alley bar brawl, I want Chuvalo by my side.

You constantly hear **** like this

Tua was better than Tyson, Tua hit harder than Tyson and Foreman, blah blah blah

The guy was the Wilder of the 90's, knocking out the whose who of taxi drivers and toilet cleaners of the era and unlike Wilder, whenever Tua stepped up, he lost or was on the verge of losing until he found a last minute home run KO

Name me David Tuas top ten wins, over quality opposition and try and keep a straight face when telling me.

Agreed, Chuvalo vs Tua would be a barnstormer Chuvalo was every bit as strong as Tua and could take the punch. Chuvalo was never a guy who was not in shape he could and would fight all night.

If a "feather fist" like Joe Frazier busted him up and stopped him what are his chances against the mighty Tuaman? Slim and none.

I don't know if it's obvious. They seem somewhat equivalent. Tua took shots from some gigantic punchers (Maskaev, Rahman, Lewis, Ike...etc) and wasn't even really wobbled. He didn't hit the canvas until almost 40. They are both very elite chins.

This match-up comes down to which version of Tua shows up. At his fittest, his activity and speed put Chuvalo in a heap of trouble. At his fattest, George has a real chance to spoil here.

Chuvalo takes that shot all day.

Anyway they both have good chins just saying Tua was put down once.

Hah! I remembered that driving around today.

And regarding Rahman's power, that and some rudimentary skills are pretty much all he had. He could bang.

Yea Tua had a good beard. Its no crime being knocked down anyway. Getting up is what matters.

I do think at some point Tua got shook or rocked and lost confidence in that chin. He didn`t seem to want to take chances and let his shots go. Maybe some of that was the handicap of that extra weight. He just go slower though I thought there was a point where he coudve put real pressure on Lennox Lewis and he packed it in and just wanted to last the distance.

    A Glass Mind?
