avtually, for floyd, more on the financial side.

the worst that can happen is you get outboxed.

now, if you happen to be one of those who poses a threat on his 0, "it doesnt make business sense or you dont bring money to the table" is the response you get.:good

on very rare occassion, when the usual excuses of there is not enough money to make the fight is laughable, you get accused of being on a-side meff.:hi:

If Cus hadn't passed away he would have stayed on the straight and narrow for longer and achieved more. However I still feel his deep personal and social problems might have broken through eventually even with Cus there....

Are people seriously saying Tyson fought bums? He has two wins over ATGs in Holmes and Spinks. How many ATGs have the Klits fought?

Becoming the youngest heavyweight champion of the world and unifying the titles within 2 years.

Of course, he never did anything great. :patsch

Seriously. Some of the people in this thread need to watch another sport, because boxing isn't for them.

Tyson himself will probably admit that at some point in his life he let down and hurt everyone who ever cared about him. Cus dying meant he didn't get to see Mike win the title, but Cus also didn't have to see Tyson go off the rails.

Maybe it's better that Cus died before Mike burned a bridge with him like he did everyone else. I'm sure Mike would have gone on to regret it horribly because he loved Cus, but that's just how Mike is.

Mitch Green stood up to him and lost. As did Ruddock. The thing is, look at early Tyson and the thing that marked him out (besides his power) was his incredible speed for a heavyweight. He lost that speed pretty early in his career and was never the same fighter afterwards.

42 to 1 shot beat him , was the Real Deal prime when he beat? Lewis beat him silly and who was the great fighter that retired him? In his prime he was the best in a sorry era.

Non-punching Joey Archer put Ray Robinson down and retired him.

Does that diminish SRR as a fighter?

Did he lose to a 42 to 1 long shot? Is Tyson's resume anywhere near the GOATs?

That is not my point, you said "who retired him?"

Joey Archer put down and retired SRR, does that diminish him as a fighter, yes or no?

It's amazing that you can be the heavyweight champion of the world at 20, unify the title and go on too have a great career and be spoke about as if you were a bum, what hope do the rest of us have ;).

Tyson was great, i dont think you'll ever see someone like him come along for a long time. His whole enviroment only had one goal in mind from a young age rightly or wrongly and that was to become the heavyweight champion of the world. And thats why you got a 20 year old that was not only beating seasoned veterans but demolishing them. That alone is some feat and testament to cus's coaching methods.

For me no one, not evander, not lennox, not bowe as great as they all were would have stopped tyson in his tracks if he continued with cus's methods and kept disciplined. Dont think it would ever have happened as tyson would have probably chosen the path he did even with cus around anyway though and also with don king around.

If you look at tyson's career it starts falling apart when he stopped training the way cus had him training, you can see the decline coming as soon as he left the original trainers which i think was just after the spinks fight, two fights later buster douglas beats him, thats not a coincidence. Again testament to cus's training, mike was great but cus was also equally as great.

I never said Tyson was as great as SRR.

But do you see my point?

It does not matter who retired Mike, as it doesn't matter who retired SRR.

Are you leaving under a rock. Tyson made berbick loom silly. Shut up spinks in 90 secs before being cleaned dry by that ***** and her mother.

Such logic from a flemming. Boggles the mind.
