Broner was very effective at 135 and he built his style around having a slight size advantage and using it to apply pressure. He was bound to outgrow 135, but 140 seems like such a perfect fit.

He looked BAD at all times at 147. Couldn't hurt Paulie, couldn't discourage Paulie. Looked like a small child against Maidana and couldn't do significant damage when he was fighting for his life.

Was Broner afraid of the big boys (Garcia/Lucas) at 140?

This will go down as one of the dumbest management decisions for such a highly touted prospect ever. 135 -> 147 and suffers a potentially career ruining beating within half a year.

He went to 147 because of money and greed, you see a lot of guys moving up in weight solely because the big fights are in the welterweight and middleweight divisions and everything from 160 to 147. Lightweight and Super Lightweight are great divisions too, but welterweight is another beast when it comes to money fights. Being a welterweight is the "IN" thing even for guys who shouldnt be there. Guys like Manny and Floyd made it there because they had the skill to overcome fighting in a higher weight class their natural, everybody don't and Broner is in that category. Broner didn't bring his power up to 147, he should go down but there's so much money at 147. Just like how every little boy wanted to be a HW when I was growing up, all the little boys want to be welterweights now because of Manny and Floyd.

No options at 140 at that time everyone was tied up with fights.

Because he is a fat cnt.

He lies when he says he could still make 130...135 is pretty hard (in his mind). He could do 140...but for the risk/reward it wasn't worth it. Instead thought he'd win an easy belt against Paulie then thought he'd outbox Maidana like Khan & Alexander did. Beating Maidana in his mind would have put him as one of the best in 147 but that just ain't true lol.

Wrong both had fights scheduled and Broner didn't want to sit idle no one at 140 worth fighting so he moved up to fight Paulie at 147. IMO he should have never left 135 he only had 2 fights there.

    Another dumb motherfu.cker:lol:

If he were afraid of Mathysee and Garcia he sure as hell wouldn't have jumped into Keith Thurman's division:hi:

He sure as hell wouldn't have fought Maidana if he were scared of them.

Seems if he were afraid of Mathysee and Garcia he would have stayed at 135.
