i think Groves was overrated in the commentary. Everytime he touched Froch Jim Watt had an orgasm. If you look at the jabs, Groves misses a lot and actually gets pawed back by Froch, and the knockdown was a well timed shot that Froch charged into foolishly. Did anybody think Groves wouldn't look fast and slick against Froch? Most people in the game thought Groves would start well, maybe not quite as assertively, but they also thought Froch would weather the storm and stop him, which happened. Groves shipped big shots at the end that Stevie Wonder would have seen coming, and he failed to stick to his plan. He reminds me a little of Khan, in that he has got bags of talent, but he doesn't understand his own vulnerabilities, and when he is in bother he reverts to the macho stuff. I don't rate Ward as highly as some, but I think he'd humble Groves. It's a case of styles making George look great for parts of the Froch fight. He barely scraped past James Degale, let alone a seasoned champion like Ward. I actually think Bute would beat Groves as Bute would enjoy the time and space Groves more educated attacks would give him. in fairness to Bute, I think he'd have boxed Carl's head off if he hadn't got stormed byhis unorthodox swarming. I think Froch would beat George in a rematch, probably in a very similar way. He'd look clumsy, crude and hopeless at times, but ultimately he'd find the door open at some point and walk through it. I give George more credit than I did before the fight, as I thought the pre-fight distractions might have got the better of him, but I don't go for the argument that he's now the best or 2nd best in the division.
