I wouldn't say he's afraid of anyone but I question his dedication to the sport. Guy was fighting at 130 18 months ago. I'm sure he could still make 140 and probably 135 if he partied a bit less and stayed in the gym. He said after the Maidana fight that he was still going partying as he would if he'd have won. I reckon he's cutting a few corners in training and thinking 147 is bigger money against bigger name fighters. Not a combination which is likely to bring a fighter success.

    IS Broner afraid of Lucas/Garcia/Peterson/Marquez?????

    YES.

    There, fixed it for ya:yep

However, theres always Johon Perez and Khabib Allahkverdiev......theyd be on the similar level as Paulie and he could win a title at 140 and claim to be GOAT.:lol:

pretty obvious... Easy pickings for a 147 belt against Paulie and 140 was too talent packed. Garcia being unified champion didnt make it feasible either as both are haymon fighters and friends.

Broner thought he could beat Maidana and become a star

Maidana put a stop to that and gave him an ass beating of his lifetime . He will not venture into 147 for a long time after that :deal

His handlers and especially him thought he was the next Floyd and tried to build him as a next big PPV attraction after Floyd retires ....... or they tried to build Broner as a next possible 'big opponent' for Floyd.

They jumped @ 147 cuz they knew theres the big money, took the easiest title holder from there in featherfisted P.M, barely won that fight by SD, then went after another 147'er in Maidana but their plan failed when Broner got in the same ring with him.

Maidana took Broner's '0' and his soul.

Seems like he could have waited at 135 until something was open. Maybe tried to unify a title at 135 or something. I think that 147 was simply too much, too fast for him. I think 140 would have made more sense for him and he and his management should have taken another fight at 135 or waited a short amount of time for a fight at 140. I think Adrien is a talent, he and his managagement just got ahead of themselves.

He tried to get Burns at 135 to unify but was turned down by Burns. He wasn't going to sit idle so he moved up. Gutsy move but at the end of the day back fired.

yeah the jump to 147 was not a smart one. he coulda let lucas/garcia fight it out and in the meantime there had to be a 140 worthy of fighting. even if it was just a dude like john molina

but to stay at 135 no way i doubt he coulda made the weight any longer. n maybe it woulda been a struggle for him to even make 140 so he just said lets play it safe so we dont mess up n weight to much so he just went to 147

You must not remember how badly Broner was slammed for fighting at 135.

If he were still there they'd be laughing harder at him than they are now.

He was called all kind's of cowards and constantly berated for not "challenging himself"

    Yep..

Somebody like GG can stay at MW until the cows come home and you don't hear a peep about him being a coward.

He for some reason isn't required to "challenge himself" like the YOUNG Adrian Broner. His old as.s can languish in the MW wasteland forever....that's OK...for some reason.:think

I respect Broner for taking chances and being BOLD.
At least he got paid for that as.s whipping:deal

Most fighters get whipped for peanuts compared to what Broner just made.

Broner took shots that would have stopped the average WW despite only having TWO fights at 135.:deal

Broner is made from some tough shi.t no doubt about it.

Jumping to 147 wasn't the problem.

Fighting WW's the same way he fought LW's was the problem.

Floyd adjusted his style when he moved up...Broner,not so much.

Broner can do a lot more in the ring than he's been showing...good thing he learned his lesson young:deal
