**** no...where did you get that one from? Chad was sounding like he was considering what to do with his career a month or two ago - still no manager or promoter last I heard and he's gonna take a fight at 2 weeks notice?

This is one I need to see a reference for - I just got over saying how Alvarez was gonna end up with some journeyman at this short notice...this is pretty big news if true.

**** - just got news Tommy O was dropping out like 12 hours ago - you sure about this one?

rds in the comments section talking about talk on twitter...i looked around...

    https://twitter.com/TVASports

thats from a local sports broadcatser......then from one of their employees account is this ...2 hrs ago
and then this one hour ago

there was also talk about don george who also spoke on twitter saying he was ready any time, but GYM said with 1 win in last 4 HBO would never accept him....

so it would seem that HBO is ok with dawson fighting, and its dependant of if dawson wants to take the fight....but the way its looking is dawson is confirmed, unless im reading it all wrong...

besides, doesnt dawson need the $? i think he can beat alvarez and win a decisive win, and if he is hoping to reconquer his career, this is a good route to take

    It's very, very sketchy...

Dawson was/is a Championship level fighter, if he wants to reignite his flagging career he shouldn't be taking fights at 2 weeks notice. Unless he's absolutely desperate, or has been keeping in fighting trim he shouldn't even think about taking this and I expect he won't.

i agree, its very sketchy, but if you remember back when dawson fought stevenson, he didnt take adonis seriously, said he had to google him, ect...i think dawson in general has a hard time taking his oponents seriously...either that or he needs the 4, or he really thinks this is a good way to relaunch his career....i seen on dawsons twitter that he said 2014 was his year...

i think dawson may be boxings kanye west...someone who was relavent at some point, but just went crazy and cant rely on him being the same old guy..

ok so it seems i jumped the gun a bit...its not confirmed, but dawsons manager is trying to get this fight, but doesnt like the conditions GYM is putting in the contract....so their still in negotiations...

Don george was also mentioned, but it seems hbo doesnt want him, too bad, george may not be the best, but neither was mickey ward, but he could put one hell of a show on for the fans, i think george, given the right fights, could be another mickey ward, he really just gives it his all, gotta love that about a fighter

ya it seems negotiations didnt fall through, i dont blame dawson though, it was risky for him, given preparation i think he beats alvarez but maybe not last minute....also dawson doesnt have the greatest luck in MTL, lol

the new opponent that is confirmed is andrew gardiner 10-0
