Dominated every fight he's been in so far against good to elite opposition and no sign in slowing down with the intentions to fight Groves and Golovkin. He's also hinted at LHW action in the future, so we'll likely get the winner of a Stevenson/Kovalev clear out, who would then be the LHW champ and certified elite class.

Mayweather on the other hand is on a farewell senior tour and hasn't done half of what Ward has in the last 5 years. So it's pointless to suggest that a 37 year old on a cherry picked farewell going away side show is the current best fighter in boxing. It's obviously Ward, who's establishing a serious legacy and isn't even 30 yet.

You *****'s are going to have to get in touch with reality.:deal

U sir are an idiot. Floyd has fought more world champions and p4p rated fighters than ward has. Not to mention winning world titles in 5 different division which is also a great achievement to prove p4p credibility.

    Please hang urself.

Don't think you can look past Floyd at the moment. Ward is a lock at #2 though.

P4P is based on who are the best fighters in the world today based on current form, recent opposition etc.

Your overall career acheivments is not a factor in deciding P4P rankings.

Idiotic post. While i have no problem with people having him at number 1 due to his skillset, the reasons you said is rediculous.

I suppose you have Hopkins at number 2? Why dont you have Roy Jones at number 1? You got James Toney at number 3? Holyfield top 5?

Please hang yourself, and do it quietly away from us.

I like Rigo and rank him highly, but he's far from flawless. He's been knocked down or buzzed in 3 of his last 6 or 7 fights.

Exactly. The opposition in the last couple of years isn't comparable. Mayweather has fought 1 legit challenge in Cotto and a bunch of heavily cherry picked otherwise. We also saw him struggle with Cotto.

Ward went through Kessler, Froch, Dawson and Abraham in extremely dominant fashion and was the victor of a round robin tournament that decided who was the real Kingpin of the division. What makes it special is that he went through many different styles in the same dominant form.

Mayweather in the last few - Mosely off the roids, Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero and Alvarez.

Ortiz and Guerrero are useless. Alvarez is a hype job. So you have an aged Mosely off the juice and Cotto in a struggle of a fight as compared to what I listed above.

To be fair we'll dock points on Dawson as an opponent since he drained himself down and is seemingly done, but still - lineal champion. What do you have when you have a widely said P4P best and idiotically considered 'best of his era' that wastes tons of time fighting useless fights and runs from his main era rival at every turn?

You deduct credit for cherry picking, ducking, safety first and useless fights.

Khan up next. Take him off your #1 p4p ratings, it's getting ridiculous.

No, he isn't flawless. Ward has looked the most complete and least likely to lose anytime soon in boxing. Some will say the same about Mayweather, but he's more least likely to lose because he's assured to fight fighters that are under his level. He's an elite that doesn't fight in the elite level.

Rigo will keep gaining credit though if he keeps winning in dominant fashion over good opposition.

He called out an elite p4p ranked opponent for two years and finally got the fight as an underdog and dominated him. So he's rightfully in the top 3-5 and gaining.

Struggle with Cotto ? When? He beat the Champion at 154 not a belt holder, he's the lineal champ at 154 and 147 if he's not #1 who is?

^ You didn't watch the Cotto fight? That wasn't an easy fight for him, he had to make multiple adjustments to win and lost some rounds and had a bloody nose. Cotto was touching him and pressing him for most of the duration.

#1 @ 54? That's up for grabs, but Lara's done more @54 than Floyd or Canelo and is obviously seen as the current best at LMW. And if I am correct in my knowledge, he brought Canelo down to 152, so his lone W at 154 proper is Cotto, who while was in form and provided a good fight certainly hasn't been successful @ LMW against LMWs.

Lineal at 147 has yet to be decided because a fight between two elite's there hasn't happened in years. Ws over Guerrero and Ortiz there in the last few do not grant you lineal status.

Mayweather vs Pac at 147 when it was hot would have established a real lineal champion - oooops, received a duck job. Still on going in fact even after the guy got KO'd.

Let's see, Floyd is universally regarded as the best p4p fighter in the world by the boxing community, which is comprised of trainers, esteemed journalists, former fighters etc.. Then you have the "rankings' of the ranting internet forum guy... Umm, I think most of us are gonna stick with what the respected boxing community actual thinks...Sorry dude!!!!

Some people had Broner P4P at #5, so this isn't too weird.
