Slightly. His performance against Froch was intense and gutsy but even though he got stopped prematurely, he was definitely not seeing the final bell of the 12th round that fight. He had success in the early and mid rounds by bumrushing an apparently old, faded Froch but gassed once he realized he's not gonna finish Carl off.

Nah, Groves is good and by most people on here, he's rated about right. I for one don't consider the Froch fight a robbery though. If anything, it was an early stoppage and the ref should've given Groves some more time to answer the shots.

I wonder why boxer don't take a knee in these situations though. Groves would've had the chance to recover and perhaps finish the fight with a close point lead (although I recall the scorecards being hilariously narrow even though Froch absolutely threw the first 6 or 7 rounds). He chose not to.

I dont think he would beat ward but anoyone denying he schooled froch and smashed him to bits for the first 6 rounds needs to make an appointment with specsavers asap.

Froch was getting seriously hurt with the jab throughout the fight

Ward is a gamble, but i would put Groves in with any of the other titlists tomorrow especially Froch as his style is tailor made for Groves :D
I suppose that's why Froch is running away from the rematch with his tail showing

From his performance against Froch I'd agree he has nothing to fear in terms of the other belt holders.

Ward in my view is a step too far at the moment, but could potentially be a ******* in the future if Groves keeps on progressing.

The point you make about Watt is something i've felt as well. I said on another forum IIRC that he seemed to have a real glint in his eye and a real enthusiasm in talking up a Groves win.

I think he really fancied Groves to win, He sensed a shock. He's not a fan of Froch either by the way he's commentated on his career over the years (just my opinion) and i think he probably dropped a few quid on a Groves win.

He was very much beating the drum for Groves throughout the fight hence why i muted it. TBH i mute Sky's commentary most weeks now anyways .

Nah I don't think so. He was underrated before the Froch fight though.
