. He says he's afraid of nobody, but wants Hopkins and Froch first because of financial reasons obviously, but he also wants Kovalev as one of his 3 opponents this year

you really think? The first time I saw him was a few weeks ago and he looked decent, but nothing too special

damn whenever the thread is about Stevenson ducking Kovalev, there are plenty of comments, but now that Stevenson has silenced all of that, nobody has anything to say?

Kovalev and Stevenson would toy with Shumenov and knock him out.

Prediction: Stevenson losses before he fights Kovalev then nobody will be that bothered about it when it does happen.

Kind of like making a Gamboa-Lopez fight after Lopez got spanked by Salido.

I'm not sure if Stevenson gets past Froch and Hopkins honestly. Seems like an awfully big ordeal but just in case he manages to beat Froch, Hopkins and Kovalev in the same year, he'd be a lock #1 FotY.

Both Froch and Hopkins have history of exposing Canadians.

If this happens I would predict the odds to be pretty even, with Kovalev possibly being a slight favorite.

That said, I would bet big on Kovalev.

Ummm.......Kovalev is RIGHT there for the fight. They could make it for March/April, right now.

Hopkins and Shumenov are looking to fight one another, leaving Stevenson waiting till maybe Sept/Oct for BHOP, and that would leave Kovalev until December at the earliest.

Froch has already made it clear he aint moving up, and he's also made it clear that if Stevenson wants some he can get back in line at 168. He's also got rematch potential with Ward, Groves and might possibly want the Abraham/Steiglitz winner, and he could get a payday at a CW with Bute if he gets past Pascal.

So essentially Stevenson is saying.....I'll fight Kovalev this yr, after BHop is done with Shemenov, and Froch is done with Ward and Bute, so essentially, Kovalev can me until 2016.:yep:yep:yep

I understand Stevenson's desire for a few easier, big payday fights first, but I am not sure he' gonna get these... I'd love to see him vs Kovalev, as for me the two of them are clearly the best LHW boxers atmo. The the winners of Stevenson v Kovale and Hopkins v Shumenov for a unification! Now that would be huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge!

Stevenson is doing what anybody would do in his position. He just fought 4 times in 2013 and now Lineal Champ at the division. Kovalev we all know would be favored to beat anybody at 175 except if Ward comes up in weight.

So Stevenson is looking to fight the 2 guys that'll bring him the most money and then let the Kovalev fight gain the exposure it deserves. This could/should be a real super fight. The only problem is Adonis could lose before that happens though.

And in reality, Stevenson isn't going to fight Froch (since he doesn't want the fight at 175) and Hopkins is with Showtime. So the fight will come sooner than you expect
