Question for you.... Who had the better chin? The walking giant, super heavyweight Wladamir or skinny chicken legged blown up cruiserweight Holyfield? I'd like your answer and explanation to this!

I've timed it and Louis is much faster.

Wlad is simply to big, to fast, to strong, to powerful, to skilled. I could go on and on. Joe Louis ,was great in his time. But this isn't the 30's-40's. He struggled from time to time against the limited opposition that was around then. Joe Louis, has no advantage in any area over Wlad. Wlad is just a better fighter period, it's not even debatable.

watching the Baer vs Galento clip says it all. If Baer tried throwing his right hand from his beltline like he was doing against Galento, against one of the better fighters around today, Baer's head would end up in the cheap seats.

Well, someone needs to do them, otherwise the lip service is all just that. :blabla

For as close as possible to a real apples to apples comparison, you'll need to find example of them both throwing single jabs/right crosses/1-2s at similar height opponents from a similar distance and measure the duration of both from technique start through finishing motions of each punch, ideally down to hundredths of a second.

Which of you intrepid lads is prepared for a time-consuming undertaking of scientific observation?

Still wondering where you read that. But wouldn't those circumstances make a guy fight harder?

So Louis struggled against guys who had double digit losses? Double digit losses by today's standards mean B-U-M or "utter rubbish".

Thats because heavyweights today fight 2, maybe 3 times a year.
