Froch appears to be afraid to rematch Groves for some reason..................geeeeee, I wonder why.............

 

again.....froch was in worse shape getting off his arse in the 1st and allowed to continue than groves was at time of stoppage....wheres the justice ?

I am a bit of a Froch fan and love his old school warrior style boxing. But after re-watching the fight a couple of times i have to say that it wasn't a proper TKO. Yes Groves was getting tired and yes he was hit a few times during the 9th round, but was he really in serious trouble? More like Froch was in trouble for the majority of the fight and Groves wasn't even allowed to weather the storm for just a little bit, for the first time in the fight. Lets face it, Froch suffered terrible punishment during the course of the fight and that 6th round was one of the worst beat downs I've seen in quite some time.

Take Froch's Homer Simpsonesque head out of the equation then he had no place still standing there. All the things he's been saying have been embarrassing and a rematch has to happen. Who wants to see another one-sided UD win for Ward? Froch has little to no chance to ever beating a fighter like Ward. The fans know what they want and that is a rematch with Groves.

Groves NEARLY took his chance, but he didnt, he blew it. If he couldnt get him out with the round 1 knockdown and the MANY flush power shots he landed then what makes anyone think Groves had a chance after round 9

End of the day this is how it is. Froch TOOK all of Groves shots and NEVER did he turn his back on Groves when he was still throwing

Groves however turned his back and didnt throw anything back on a few occasions that Froch even landed glancing blows.

If Groves was fine, this bits important, why did he let the ref get him in what looks like a headlock? Foster sure as hell didnt use any force to drag George into a headlock. No, he ended up in that position because he did not have an answer to what Froch was thowing, the only way 'out' of that situation was to fall into the ref

Big respect to Froch, what a tough guy, iron chin, big heart and determination. Respect for giving Groves the chance Calzaghe didnt give him. Whats sad is that if he ducked this risk like 90% of other boxers do he would not be getting this stick

Big respect to Groves, terrific fighter, big puncher, gonna have a great career. Deserves a rematch

No respect to Howard Foster for robbing us of knowing the true outcome

At least give Groves a chance to weather the storm, it is a boxing match and everyone gets hit. Coming from a guy that likes Froch, this stoppage was too early.

 

Regardless of whether or not he's afraid of Groves, the rematch will only happen if Groves re-signs with Eddie I think, if he goes elsewhere there are other options for him to win a world title and he can't wait around forever for Froch to rematch him.

 

It's all woulda, coulda, but the fact is we'll never know because the ref stopped the fight before there was a conclusive finish. The referee wasn't consistent in his performance as he gave Froch every chance to recover from a HEAVY knockdown and rightly so imo, but he jumped in on Groves the first time he had been in any sort of trouble and that's unacceptable seeing as its a world title fight where Knockdowns and Knock-outs are part of the sport, but George never got the chance to whether the storm and to defend his lead.

 

How did he blow it? He was beating Froch over the 9 rounds and the ref jumped in. Groves could have gone down, took the chance to recover and got through the round-You dont know that would happen so stop writing your own version as if its fact. Why didnt George wrestle with the ref-its very rarely done, he probably thought Wtf at the time

Froch was tiring, a few clean blows in the later rounds could have had him out-we will never know

Something is clear with the Pro Froch version-Winfella etc have decided Groves would have been stopped, without proof, just the fact he had been caught a few times-Those wanting a rematch are saying it was premature and unfair and we dont know what would happen (for the most posters anyway)
