Fantastic fighters the average Joe hasn't heard of!

    I doubt many Average Joe's know even Greb or Langford.

    Considering they are probably two of the three best the game has ever seen, that's a crime.

    Thistle where did you dig Jack Casey up from?!!
    He was from my home town of Sunderland and was one of the toughest men ever to lace them up.
    In 224 fights although stopped a few times he never took a ten count.
    He had Len Harvey in all kinds of trouble in their British Title fight but just couldn't finish him off.
    He gave future middleweight champion Marcel Thil all the trouble he could handle before being out pointed.
    Both Harvey and Thil said he was the toughest hardest man they fought.
    You must be a real student of the game Thistle because that's the first time I've known anyone mention him on here!

    Baby Joe Gans was another. Jimmy McLarnin rated him a great fighter.

    Sid Terris. Same class as Mandell and Valger. Also overshadowed by Brainy Leonard's reign quite a few years after he retired. Had a suspect chin but was said to be a classy operator with great footwork.

    I think guys like Eddie Booker and Dave Holly,
    If you fed all data into the IBM Big Blue computer
    they would be at the top of this list.

    Casey could have won a world title in his own right.

    there have been loads of great fighters especially from much busier days with thousands more fighters fighting and competetion much stiffer making the Very TOP men True Greats indeed. and Jack Casey was one of them!

    He was a real legend up here everyone knew him.
    There's some good names in his win column including Tommy Farr,Jack London,Archie ***ton and Jock McAvoy although the MvAvoy win was on disqualification after The Rochdale Thunderbolt hit him low.
    Obviously Casey's nuts weren't as cast iron as his chin!

    Eddie Booker was such an avoided LHW that he didn't get a chance to fight the champions of his era.

    Archie Moore agreed to fight him 3 times, and could never beat him.
