Admiration, I have to admire the brass nerve you have to leave an accomplished world champion out of the top 10 completely :good This is me referring to your list at the top of your post, which is a great list might I add, Paul Butler above Khalid Yafai is spot on, for me he hasn't done enough yet (Butler) but he's on the verge of ploughing his way in there IMO, he's a great little fighter, and not one many would pick in a British P4P list. I'm sorry to say this but the list (as great as it is) without Froch is not credible buddy :happy
Tyson Fury seems to be popping into people's list at number 8,9 and 10 For the love of God why is this man considered a P4P stand out? He can't box!
I can only ask, again, why no one has Macklin in their top 10 after he beat Sturm etc, while everyone has Murray in there? I'm baffled!

Nice sound bite about British idiosyncrasies, but nonsense, mate. Surely in order to have any credibility any "rating" system can only stand up if it compares like with like. The only yardstick for comparing the British top 3 middles is Felix Sturm. Who did best against that standard.? You follow? Want another yardstick? Mack recently beat a good live young fresh opponent, while Murray scuffled with a middle aged Russian roadsweeper. Yet one is near the top of every muppets top 10 and the other is nowhere????
The top list is based on skill only and for 9 rounds Greoge Groves proved Carl has very little he fights far too ssquare on to the point when he throws right hands he's standing southpaw,he gets hit far too much and as much heart and Courage and strength he has, he needs it all to counter for his lack of skill. Where as Paul butler has so much that with a few more credible wins he'll be right up there for everyone (or should be)
Thats me assuming I'm "not a muppet" then How does comparing the top 3 middle's of British boxing translate to British P4P rankings? Macklin does not qualify for a P4P list for losing fights, I'm sorry but thats the way I see it (incidentally I have Murray at #9 and didn't consider Macklin worthy of a place), there is criteria for P4P ranking and momentum makes up part of that criteria. Consider Nathan Cleverly, ranked inside British P4P rankings for some 3 years, one crushing defeat and banished from the list without contemplation, why? because there is a host of fighters who have momentum and are winning fights who qualify to be on that list before Nathan Cleverly, even if he did defend his WBO belt x amount of times. (quality of opposition for Cleverly being another hotly debated topic in itself). We cannot keep quoting the Felix Strum robbery when evaluating Macklin's standing in the sport, too much has happened since.
Ill agree with you to the hilt on Butler, he's terrific, Froch is a decorated amateur fighter who boxed at the elite level of amateur boxing before going onto claiming multiple (credible by todays standards) world title's beating and stopping a who's who of top fighters. Please do not make out that Carl Froch is some type of face first plodder who gets lucky because he's tough! :deal :hi:

Quigg's world title counts for nothing its a joke belt he isn't a world champion, he has fought some decent level fighters but having him at 3 or 4 is crazy.
