All this talk of p4p is pathetic, CRAWFORD HAS NOT BEATEN A TOP 20 FIGHTER YET FACT!. His best win is against Prescott who Mitchell beat who burns knocked out in 4 rounds. Broner was the next p4p until he dived on the floor and cried like a little girl, Crawford is no different, he night become great but he is not at the moment and will lose against burns
Personally thought the Burns-Beltran fight was close but will have to rewatch it at some point (will agree that beltran was hurting burns a lot) But really who is Crawfords best win? Breidis Prescott? Kevin Mitchell shutout Prescott when he was still relevant and Featherfisted Burns stopped Mitchell . . . . Now i maybe wrong, Crawford could demolish Burns but on the other hand Prescott had pretty much become a name opponent as opposed to the Khan conqueror by the time he and Crawford fought and Really we could see Burns outbox the American clearly
Crawford will beat burns in every aspect of his game.. The only way Burns wins is by a home town decision.. Crawford is far superior boxer than Burns and he will get beat.. Crawford is the future in that division smell the coffee..
Based on his last two fights, I really will pick Crawford despite being a Burns fan. Burns does warrant more respect from the exciting fights over Martinez, Kats, and Mitchell...
Crawford hasn't fought anybody other than Breidis but he does seem to have skills that could completely shut out Burns if he is the goods.
Smithshaun and co. when assessing how BURNS will fare against CRAWFORD you have to look at how BURNS performed against similar fighters to CRAWFORD, not compare how MITCHELL performed against PRESCOTT. Now if both BURNS and CRAWFORD fought PRESCOTT you would have a direct comparison to gauge both fighters but you can't follow such a convoluted form line to come to the conclusion that BURNS will win. Like I said, give an example of BURNS beating a fighter similar to CRAWFORD or of CRAWFORD struggling with a fighter like BURNS. The caps are for the benefit of those who don't seem to get the concept of assessing individual fighters and how their styles match up against each other rather than using idiotic 6 degrees of separation lines to draw a conclusion.
Im not naïve enough to think that just because burns beat Mitchell in 4 rounds who went 12 with Prescott as did Crawford that burns will win. The point im trying to make is burns is being unfairly written off in this fight. This fight imo will probably go twelve rounds as I don't think Crawford has the power to stop burns and burns ko record is not his strength, saying that Crawford has never been twelve rounds as a professional and this will be his downfall. The beltran fight cant be assessed in anyway because of the injury in round 2, burns could not fight on the inside but looked more than comfortable at range and even with a broken jaw won the last two rounds which just shows his level of fitness and courage. Crawford is good im not denying it but I don't think he will be able to go twelve rounds at the pace ricky will set. Crawford has never been dragged into a tear up and that is what this fight will be. Only chance Crawford has is a ko inside the first 5 rounds and if he does that he will be the first to do it to burns in 30 odd fights and 8 world title defences. It will never happen. Burns can box he has a great jab, look what he did to the unbeaten Martinez, he totally outboxed him all night, same as Mitchell who is a great boxer as he showed against Prescott, ricky was winning the jab exchanges every round. It will be a great fight but the people saying a easy win for Crawford truly know nothing about boxing.
I just don't see it. There are times when backing an underdog is a great bet. This isn't one of them.
I'm actually surprised Crawford is going to Scotland to fight Burns unless HBO takes their cameras there. Bud has been on their air twice now so he could hang out and wait for a M garcia fight and make the same money, but fair play to him for taking the risk since there's no way he'll get a decision. Anybody with a modicum of sense would favor Crawford over Burns. Problem is, it's Crawford vs Scotland and not just Burns.
Crawford is going to whip his ****in ass! I know he hasn't really been tested, but Niether has Burns, hell, he had some hometown cooking going on when he finally stepped up.
