As explained to you by other people, resumes don't fight. Ward vs Kessler is one example, Cotto vs Trout is another... :think

...what's Quillin's resume like again? Shot-to-pieces Winky? N'Dam who clearly ducked Golovkin twice in the past? A close fight with Rosado? Journeyman Brinkley who had been sonned by Bute in their fight? Quillin has JMW Fernando fukkin Guerrero, that's about all he has. Even then, Guerrero failed to pass the JMW gatekeeper test i.e. Grady Brewer.

Ward beat Kessler because Kessler actually signed up to fight him. Golovkin has beaten everyone he's fought. GGG can't force guys to fight him.

Macklin said GGG is better than Martinez.
GGG beat Rosado better than Quillin did.

He survived Rosado, beat bumbasher Guerrero, beat HNN (good win) and an ancient Winky.
That's not much of a resume and the difficulties he had with Rosado tells much of the story here.

You still don't get it. Kessler had the better resume of the two, by quite a bit. Kessler lost. Here you're trying to say A) Quillin has the better resume of the two (which he arguably doesn't), and B) that Quillin would beat Golovkin strictly because his resume is better.

    No, it's not. :blood

    160:
    Martinez (old by now)
    Golovkin
    Geale
    Sturm

    154:
    Floyd
    Alvarez
    Lara
    Trout
    Cotto

These divisions aren't even close in talent. What the fuck are you talking about?

I'm afraid YOU still don't get it.

    Exactly WHO has Golovkin beaten?

This is the question which needs to get answered.

The guys is *32* years old, has the blessing and backing of HBO, and has only managed to fight the Osumanu Adama's and Curtis Stevens' of the world.

This guy is being so blatantly protected that it would be funny if it weren't so SAD. Winky Wright, despite all of his considerable skill, is one of the most boring fighters of the 20th century. That, however, didn't prevent him from getting fights with Mosley, Hopkins, Taylor and Vargas - all BIG names. Golovkin is an exciting fighter who has the blessing and backing of HBO - and we're supposed to believe that nobody wants to fight this guy?

    BULLSH.IT

Call me when Golovkin comes off of his extended "Bum of the Month" tour...

No doubt. Saying otherwise is just wishful thinking on the part of the Golovtards.

If Lara moved up, most experts would probably favor him over any 160lb'er - and Cotto will probably beat Martinez...

What are you talking about? Floyd I will grant you, Martinez gonna crush Cotto at catch weight even though he is ancient unless his knee is totally gone. Alvarez and Trout should both be at 160, but cut to 54 cause they would get pulped. (In fairness to 154, Alvarez just a couple fights from gatekeeper status anyhow)

Lara has some skills, but I havent seen enough of his fights to place him accurately vs the MWs.

You are confusing exposure and casual fan name recognition for talent/skill. Except for FMJ, even Sturm matches up nicely with the 154s. Heck, Sergio Mora would box the ears off the 154 crowd. (sans FMJ)

I never said anything about Quillin's resume being stellar - however, it's still better than Golovkin's...

This question needs to be answered with another:

By whom? That makes all the critical difference.

By those picking him over Hagler in h2h match-ups, well, then, yes he is overrated by them.

By those who say he would be schooled by Kid Choc, never lay a hand on Mora, get kayoed by Maravilla etc - well, then, no, he is the exact opposite - underrated by them.

Very polarizing figure. You can't really peg him as either/or. Who is doing the rating matters. (and it's very difficult to find a fair objective voice appraising Golovkin, especially with boxing having such an unfortunate divide along racial lines compartmentalizing everything into this camp vs. that camp - he is either underrated exaggeratedly by deluded haters and/or those whose agenda calls for it, or he is overrated exaggeratedly by deluded fanatics and/or those whose agenda calls for it...)

GGG. looks to be a very good fighter who may turn out to be great. At this time and with the quality of fighters he has been against, you can't say for sure. Looking forward to watching his career progress, but he needs to show a little urgency. The guy is getting up in age for a Middleweight.

You have some posters who say that GGG, pounds Hagler. Thats simply laughable at this time in his career. Those folks are delusional fanboys. GGG, needs to step up against the big boys, and show the world if he's going to be an all timer, or a pretender.
