There's a huge difference in the circumstances between those fights. Whether you thought Macklin won or lost, Sturm Macklin was no robbery. It was a close fight.

Lara Williams, OTOH, was not a close fight and the judges who scored that fight were suspended having not worked a fight since. The decision in this fight is the very definition of a Brinks Job..

Two completely different sets of circumstances.

    Lets compare apples to apples...

I think he has a lot of talent and just as importantly, the right temperament. He does need to step up the level of opposition though, especially since he isn't getting any younger.

I think Macklin win is somewhat underrated by some here both him and Proksa were top 10 MWs in fact I think Macklin was top 5 at one point. They are decent wins.

So Lara was robbed....Harder.... ok. Thats probably true but still , when you have to fall back to "this guy was robbed worse " you know your stretching pretty thin.

Especially when the boxers in question both lost to the same guy (Sergio). Williams claim to fame - controversial decision vs Martinez first time out. Got KTFO KO2 in rematch... just prior to losing to Lara. Macklin did much better vs Martinez than Williams.

Not that I dont rate Lara, because I do. But your going batshet nutty over how he has a "superior" resume is just silly.

Are you Golovkin's PR manager? Why would anybody commit so much time and effort (falsely) defending a **** weight division to make a boxer you favour look good? Why even bother? You are aware that Gennady doesn't give a flying fuck about you, are you?

    :lol::lol::lol:

So typical. If you cannot put together anything resembling a sensible argument, then go ad hominem and attack the poster.:-:)-(

I just enjoy trolling trolls, its a slow day and I need to get my jollies somehow. You and Nay Sayer just make easy targets. When you fall back on personal attacks because you see an opinion you dislike on a forum, that tells me your eyes are probably going bloodshot and bulging while your face turns a lovely shade of beet red. And I just cant help myself.:hi:

Your post also begs the question - under same criteria, wouldnt that mean people are going to lengths to glorify 154/vilify 160? FMJ and Erislandy Lara dont know or give a flying fvck about you either... just FYI.

The only different set of circumstances is the double standard you're applying.

Lara-Williams was the worse score. Guess what? All that does is change the record from 0-1 to 1-0. The exact same change the proper result of Sturm-Macklin would do for Macklin's record.

You don't get to pick and choose which one counts and which one doesn't because it suits your argument to play both sides of the fence.....Nevermind, you can- you're just gonna get called out on that BS. :deal

154 being a good division is the concensus among boxing fans across the globe. 160 being better is an opinion exclusively held by you. There is no way I'm gonna waste my time arguing your crackpot theories about how 160 is a better division, get the fuck out of here.

Have ever heard of the terms False Consensus Effect or Confirmation Bias?

Anyhow, you are the one who jumped in.

Personally I find the MW/jrMW arguments refreshing after boxing talk being dominated by the FMJ/PAC fight (that wont ever happen) for 4+ years.

    :eek:ld

What's so special to appear on HBO these days?
They don't want to pay for their fighters.
Actually they're getting rid of every 'expensive' ones as we speak.

--to a career-high payday for Stieglitz (46-3, 26KO), who is guaranteed $2.3 million for--

--Nearly Five Million Watch King Arthur's Return--

He's better and more exiting than Abraham and Stieglitz, right?

How many sponsors Gennady has currently?

If his career would've been properly built in Europe, he could have plenty IMO.

    [yt]jTp8MCcfyMs[/yt]

    ^not with Gennady's chicken legs though :D

    [yt]Zo67Qz-cLj4[/yt]

    ..but-but-but HBO! :|

I'm sorry but NO. Macklin Strum was a close fight - NOT a robbery.

    Please try again..

Have you ever heard of crack?

It sounds like you're smoking some.

The ONLY people who would think 160 is deeper than 154 are rabid Golovtards.

    Welcome to the nut house...
