How is he ducking someone who is in a bigger weight class? LOL Has ward offered to come down to fight him? If not how the fuk can you say hes ducking. Ridiculous.

GGG is the most ducked fighter out there. Sturm wanted nothing to do with him and wouldn't fight him, gave up his belt to avoid him. Martinez wants nothing to do with him either at this point in his career. It would be fair to do a catchweight fight with Ward, and GGG KOs ward inside 10 rounds. GGG has big fights coming, after his next sparring match expect some big fights out of the man. Nobody is stopping him, mark my words.

No but Floyd didn't have nearly as good career as an amateur as oscar or GGG. oscar had twice the wins with half the losses. Triple G has 100 more wins than Oscar (300+)with same losses approx (5). That is some serious experience. Its only mathematical Floyd want good enough to capture Gold. :deal

    I've seen it.

It was no Roy Jones - Park Si-Hun.

Floyd turned pro earlier which is probably why his amateur career wasn't as "good" as Oscar's or Golovkin's. His pro career exceeds both however and that is surely what matters?

Floyd lost the fight at the Olympics by a pretty horrendous decision.

No, not quite but it was a bad decision no doubt. Neither do I think anything will exceed or even the RJJ v Si-Hun robbery.

I agree with this entire post 100%. 154 may be slightly stronger but there's not a lot in it imo.

Are you talking amateur resume? GG has a better amateur resume than Floyd?

It doesn't have to be. Floyd clearly won, and they said he lost.

I dont see how Alvarez or Trout qualify as A level. Lara I will give you.

FMJ is a special case, and he fights at other weights - his next fight will be with a 140 or 147 guy. Normal division logic does not really apply to him anyhow - the FMJ lottery really supercedes weight/belt rankings or considerations. Saying the division is deep because Floyd sometimes picks guys who fight in it for a payday doesnt seem right.

Cotto has announced a move to 160.

Alvarez has a good resume (for his age anyway) and is #9 P4P in The Ring magazine. Trout has a great win over Cotto and a very close fight with A level LMW Alvarez.

It makes perfect sense. Resume is everything.

I wont ever buy into the resume is everything line, because like everything else in the sport outside of KOs its subjective. If more divisional tournaments like the SMW Super 6 occurred then resume would mean a lot more. Thats why so many, including myself rate Ward so highly - he both had to, and had the opportunity to fight "everyone". Without the tourney many of those fights would not have been made, and people would still be calling Ward a hype job.

Cotto was at his lowest point, though it was a good win for Trout but..

Ring mag P4P rating for Alvarez carries about as much weight as HBO P4P rating of GGG. They are both blatantly biased to favor the finances of the principles involved. P4P rating for beating Trout just because Trout UDed the shadow of Cotto that showed up that day is the textbook definition of overhype.

LOL @ people saying Golovkin is "the man" at MW. Other than Macklin, his resume is bad, especially considering how highly some people are rating him. Golovkin isn't "the man", and won't be until he fights and beats Martinez. That's how it works, that's how it's always worked, and that's how it will always work. Then people say that he beat Macklin more impressively than Martinez. Well, I would hope he did, considering Martinez is old and slow as **** now, and Golovkin is still relatively young. It's like none of you have heard that styles make fights. Martinez's style has always relied on athleticism and reflexes. As soon as he got older, it was inevitable that he would look like ****, because his reflexes diminished.

And "Everyone is ducking him, so he's the man" is such a bull**** excuse. Golovkin and his managers have both said that they're willing to fight anyone from 154 to 168. So, either put up or shut up. He's not going to convince anyone by fighting people like Stevens and Adama. And at 32, he's not getting any younger.

i'm going to say no. he's dominating his opposition in impressive fashion. ppl get excited when that happens. i don't believe he's invincible. i see things that can be exploited. whether there is anyone he will fight anytime soon that can exploit those things is what remains to be seen.

The answer to that question is NO.

2014 will only see Golovkin fight more BUMs, STIFFs, TOMATO CANs, No Hopers and NEVER WEREs until HBO gets tired of the Triple G three ring circus act...

i don't want to be the guy to point it out....but they gave ward **** about opponent selection and golovkin pretty much gets a pass. hbo has always been guilty of this. he's not fighting bums, stiffs...etc. those guys are legit boxers. they just look like bums and stiffs because of the way he dominates them. stevens, macklin, rosado...all are world class. they might not be A class...but they are very good boxers.
