who is the smartest boxer today ?

Mosley, Hoya, Margarito , Hatton, Cotto: Wasn't smart like Floyd so they went through a lot of pain.

In terms of raw IQ, Wlad is probably the smartest guy out there. In the ring I'd go with Hopkins.

Floyd and Hopkins are the obvious choices for ring IQ. Cleverly has a degree in maths so he's probably the smartest outside the ring.

In the ring it's probably Hopkins, rigo or mayweather. Outside of the ring I'd say the klitschkos, very intelligent guys. mayweather has been smart, marketed himself well and built a brand, he's not stupid like some in this thread have claimed.

 

mayweather is very smart in some ways and a total moron in others. overall better than your average thug.

 

Mayweather has the highest ring IQ in boxing today, Hopkins and Rigo are right there tho...

Floyd is also the smartest boxer/businessman in the game...He knows how to maximize interest in his fights...He probably makes more money from viewers who dislike him and want to see him lose than he does from his actual fans...it pays to make em hate....

As for actual book smarts who knows...I've known very intelligent people who lack common sense and life smarts so I don't know how book smarts relate to boxing and how could you determine who's more intelligent without actually sitting down to get to know them...
