No. Pacquiao relinquished the RING championship when he moved up to WW, and the lineal title remained vacant until Lucas and Garcia (the top two fighters in the division at the time) fought to determine who the linal champion really was. Had Pac not relinquished the RING belt, it might be a different case, but he did so Garcia's the champ.

that's like predicting the seasons. unimpressive. everyone knows spring comes after winter. saying garcia will be found out is inevitable.

    lmao. you are funny.

garcia just beat the best 140 has to offer.

he beat the erik morales that gave maidana all he could handle. he even dropped him.

he ko'd amir khan when no one thought he would.

he ko'd the morales that tested positive for ped's in the rematch.

    he beat zab judah.

then he fought and beat matthysse who no one thought he would face...or beat.

that's a pretty impressive run and i didn't even point out his previous wins over guys like holt, campbell, arnaoutis and theophane. he's the real deal. u don't beat a guy like matthysse and not have some talent. stop hating.

He's a very good fighter who beat another very good fighter in tough, close fight. :deal

Why do people feel the need to hate all the time? :-(

Of course, no ones denying that Garcia is the ring champion, but if Pac fights Provo at 140 does the winner of that fight become no1, or is it still Garcia? As Pac/Provo is champion as far a lineage goes.

I thought Bradley was the the lineal 140 champ post Pac heading to 147.

I'd like to see Timmy v Danny at 140. Would make for a great fight.

So when Garcia beat Matthysse, Pac hadn't fought at JWW in 5 years. 5 years.

Fighters lose lineage for retiring for 2 years and returning to the same division.

No way is Pacquiao some exception to never allowing the creation of a new lineage.

    Is interesting though...

    ---

That's like Edwin Rodriguez technically being the LHW Lineal Champion in some old school eyes (Erdei had it and retired without losing it, came out of retirement, lost to Grachev in the questionable decision, who then lost to Edwin at the 171 pound catchweight million dollar tourney this year)... And then if you really want to get wacky, does it move on to Andre Ward since Edwin came in, technically, overweight and as a LHW.

How can anyone call Garcia a chump he is the best fighter in a very stacked division, have to admit i was a critic of Garcia for quite a while and like most thought Matthysse would KO him but credit to him he proved me very wrong and beat the 2nd best fighter in the division in my eyes he is the lineal champion or whatever he is the man at 140 end of
