Exactly and fighters turn pro older, and are brought up slower and safer today as well, Fraizer was fighting Jones, Bonavana, Chuvalo, and Machen just a few years into his career. That just doesn't happen now days. Current #1 contender Pulev for instance is 32 and only has 19 fights under his belt. He has only faced two other contenders as well.

    Give me a break.
Solis took a shot to the head and blew out his knee out on the way down. He was a first round KO victim. Solis went life and death with Leaf Larson. 'live and Dangerous' my ass.

As I said , he was running through everybody till he met Chisora. There's a reason Wlad pulled out and let big bro step up to the challenge.

If Joe was fighting in the 90's, an era laden with big punchers, then I would agree that he doesn't make the cut. That era was filled with dangerous punchers from top to bottom, and big guys too.

But Wlad aside, there aren't many big punchers around right now. Some claim Wilder can hit, but until he fights a live body, I don't care about Wilder.

Now fair enough, there is a difference grinding down a smaller 200 lb. guy as opposed to a 230 lb. one, but is the difference that significant? I think if anything, the shorter distance today would hurt Joe more than tackling heavier game.

Jesus christ, thank you for posting some sense in this topic. Unbelievable level of delusion on this forum.

I know boxing is traditionally a working class sport but honestly astounded at the level of braindead posting

Enough to clean out the heavyweight division as an undersized attrition fighter? Nope.

That about sums it up unfortunately. A classic forum where certain 'boxing fans' and self proclaimed 'boxing experts' argue that perhaps the single most important fight in boxing history The FOTC, 'Frazier vs Ali', was nothing more than a battle of bums. Truly cringe worthy.

You make it sound like being an attrition fighter is some sort of handicap. Explain why you refer to the style as negative?

In this era a fighter can go from nothing to a title shot.
Not even Wlad has cleaned out the this division.
Who did Wlad beat to become champ? A shot Chris Byrd:patsch

Joe Frazier at his grunting best would spread the whole division onto the canvas like warm butter. The only opponent this may come as a surprise against is Wladimir; if you're unfortunate enough to have had your marbles affected by this narcoleptic era that is.

Lennox Lewis was a big heavyweight who knew how to use his size. Wladimir Klitsckho is a big heavyweight who uses his size like a shield; there's a difference, an incompetent difference. Frazier doesn't have to worry about the uppercut and he's going to slap that tentative jab out of his face before making his move. There's plenty of body to chop away at, plus that hook is going to give Wladimir a nasty surprise when its arc is changed and bounces off his cheek.

But the true severity of the situation will come to light when he sees Frazier roar back after eating that cross; a boxer who needed the avalanche treatment to get him out of there. The big man would be put on his heels, fret as his belligerent opponent wriggles out of the clinches, and then grace the floor once that booming left swoops through his handsome mug.

Get a fighter who not only refuses to waltz with Wladimir, but who's got serious weaponry, and you're going to see a horizontal Ukrainian.

Your predictions are taken as seriously, as your claim that Wlad was drugged or suffering from high blood sugar, in the Brewster fight. Simply laughable.

you realize of course that there are some sharp boxing minds on here, you are in the minority. Even YOU must be able to see that ??You have been called out consistently on your lack of accurate facts... Why do you continue ?

Wlad has never fought a body puncher of Frazier's caliber.
