He got his ass handed to him the whole fight. I thought he only won 3 round out of 12. Rematches are for if the first fight was a close fight, not when one fighter got annihilated. I would love to watch Broner get his ass kicked again, but do you think Maidana should give him the rematch or move on?

Broner needs to give rematches to Ponce De Leon, Malignaggi, and Quintero. Maidana is right in saying that GBP hid Khan after that lucky win and never gave him a rematch.

And paulie gave broner a shot in a much closer fight, one which a lot of people thought paulie won, broner didn't consider a rematch.

Maidana destroyed broner, I gave broner 2 rounds, I don't think he deserves a rematch at all.

LOL gave him a fight. You mean he actually fought him instead of ducking him. So Maidana should rematch him after that white wash just because Broner didn't pull a big bro move and duck him for an easier fight? I don't think so

    Damn right!

when you sign a contract with a rematch clause...you have no choice but to honor that if the fighter chooses to exercise that clause. it has absolutely nothing to do with what we think.

It doesn't matter if he deserves it at all really tbh, when you draw viewers and having big financial and promotional backing (including having Al Haymon as your manager) then you can get what you want regardless and that's what will happen.

He's making a mistake anyway I think, he'd be smarter to avoid a rematch and build up again at 140 with a tune up or two.

He wasn't trying to give Maidana a favour, don't try to make it look like Broner was giving Maidana an act of charity by letting him share a ring with him.

Did this fight have a rematch clause? I thought Maidana was thinking of moving on past a Broner fight and trying to pursue a fight with Mayweather, which would mean there was not a rematch clause. I don't know the details of the first fight contract

it was broner who was taking the bigger risk in that match up. make no mistake about it....broner did maidana a favor by fighting him. he was not obligated to do so.
