Got to go with the consensus on this one. Frazier's best chance is if he lasts beyond the first half of the fight. If he can weather a very rough passage,he outlasts Tyson. Otherwise it's Tyson by early ko.

No one, least of all me claimed that Berbick, or Douglas were as good at infighting as Joe. I am saying Tyson could uppercut Joe on the inside, and lift him clean off his feet easier than Foreman did. Wishful thinking aside, this is the worst possible matchup for Joe. Everything he can do, Tyson does, faster, harder, and more efficiently.

You really are a ****ing idiot, Douglas KO'd Tyson and Frazier has more power than Douglas and Frazier has the better chin. Tyson has dodgy chin, so how do you work out that Tyson wins that early on. Your clearly just a Tyson arse sniffing idiot!

I favor Frazier against Tyson. I think there is a possiblity that Tyson could blitz Frazier early and take him out, but I doubt it. I think Tyson would win the first few rounds maybe even hurt or knock down Frazier but around the third round I'd expect Frazier pace and body punching to take its toll on Tyson who I think would begin to be backed up by Frazier. I'd expect Frazier to completely take over the fight in the middle rounds and break Tyson down around the 8th finishing him off in a great action fight.

Frazier wins....he either stops Tyson in 14 or takes a 12 round decision! You would think Frazier was Floyd Patterson the way everyone knocks him out on this forum!

The amount of imbecilic nut hugging on this classic board is frightening. I have little or no time for Mike Tyson, but this goon has 33 inside 3 round stoppages on his resume, of 58 fights, and people are saying Joe Frazier beats him fairly comfortably after weathering any possible early storm.

This board is becoming cloud cuckoo land. It appears the lunatics are taking over the asylum, in their desperation to upstage Elroy.

The majority of people have picked Tyson, so whats your problem? Or do you think it would be so one sided and such an easy fight to predict that the very notion of even the minority picking Frazier upsets you?

Congratulations, you are the first and I imagine only poster annoying enough for me to put on my ignore list. :hi:

Tough one to call in my opinion. Its either Tyson early or Frazier late with the fight unlikely to last the distance. Tyson certainly had the greater power but Frazier had that relentless style and a champion's heart which would have won it for him if it went past the first three or four rounds.

The comments don't appear to reflect the poll, which is slightly over 2 to 1 in favour of Tyson. And no, I just can't see a case being made for Joe in this instance other than emotional attachment to his " name. "

I think the only edge Frazier had over Tyson was his heart and stamina, as with Foreman would that be enough? I don’t think so, I think Joe faces physiological impossibilities, as he did with George. How is he going to deal with Tyson’s power, accuracy, fast footwork and speed. I can’t imagine it going far personally.

The uppercut would be a problem for Joe in this matchup. Tyson was fast, explosive and could rip with either hand. Couple that with Frazier being slow out of the gate it's a tough order foe Smoking Joe.
